berg
Hi guys trying to fit my 2 decats today Not sure how the first decat is going to seal at the top 2 flanges where it meets the manifold Standard is like this with a ring gasket on each flange New ones are like this with no gaskets And the second decat looks an inch bigger than the cat when next to each other Any ideas?? st3ven1
You need exhaust gaskets, these sometime come with the decats. Something like this would do the trick. Worth putting some fire gum on it as well.
berg
What a bummer. Got them from whifbitz and they sent me gaskets for the rest of the exhaust just not those 2 sections lol
Paul Whiffin
We use a good quality exhaust sealant. something like the Loctite 5920.
sideexitsupra
I can vouch for the sealant used by Whifbitz. I have had no issues with my exhaust fitted by them using the Loctite stuff for the seals.
berg
Ok cheers Paul ill get hold of some. Managed to get 2 gaskets anyway so i might try them and check the seal. Found out the rest of my exhaust has been badly modified using a standard centre pipe attatched to the big backbox using the worst welding ive ever seen. Come arcross 5 or 6 holes so far Whole exhaust had to come off in one and both cats had to have the bolts grinded off to seperate. Just gonna buy a whole new aftermarket cat back now aswell whole new system then
