Vast improvement, I don't know about you but with the standard bulbs I could hardly see a thing without the fogs on too - the Philips ones mean you can see where you are going and they look nicer too.

They really make a difference.

I'll second that, great value for money compared with going HID. Get your sidelights done too, or they'll look very yellow compared with the other Philips BlueVision bulbs.

In which case the bulbs I mentioned should fit, if you were unlucky enough to own one of the slow ones then you'll have problems :)

So to confirm, on your UK car (the one you meant I presume ;))you need 9005, 9006 and a H3 - no idea about those J-Spec ones :)

ok fast mcanny any ideas , oh and dont say buy a uk spec lol.:p

Sorry Pete, I saw the scoop and presumed you were a man of taste :)

I can't help with the J-Spec bulbs sadly but I have read tales of people modding the UK ones to suit - isn't it the norm to use 4x9005's and mod them accordingly?

The 9006's won't go on because of the middle bit being too big but I guess it can be altered.

Your only problem with using 4 9005's will be that the dipped beam set should have the ends "dipped" in that paint stuff that masks the end of the bulb, the full beam ones don't have this.

hi tim , its the inner part thats too big , the bit with the rubber seal on it . you cant file that bit can you .

Err yeah, I did, the inner part.

If you look at the actual headlamp plastic from the outside of the car, it has the correct type of lamp to use, embossed on the cover. (rigth at the bottom) Which is what I ordered, But there must be a diffrent spec for the same part number in japan:conf:

I got mine from a company on the net, It was if you buy the dipped you get free side lights (in blue look V.cool) then buy the main beam you get another free set of lamps, I got some yellow fogs. Also look good.

Probably best for a fellow J-Spec type to answer that one for you, I'm just going on what I've read on here in the past.

I *think* the 9005's will do the trick for you though, you'll need to make some small modifications to the lugs though I think.

I think I paid about £24 a pair for mine.

Ok I ordered from this placebulbs r us but, I had to cut the tags, and file down the diameter (off the bit where the rubber sits). It cost me £48ish and i got side lights, dipped, main and fogs. Only if you put in 2 seprate orders. All of them fitted apart from the main (i think) . I think the main and dipped are diffrent wattage too. Hence diffrent arrangement of the tags that stick out.

Think that covers it.

I just used 9005s for the main and dipped beam. Works fine, and the beam pattern is also fine although you do have to file down the lugs as people have said. I bought some Philips BlueVision ones from http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk www.powerbulbs.co.uk . They're very good, much better than the standard ones. They were doing an offer where you got free BlueVision sidelight bulbs as well, but I don't think they are any more. I think Envy do them as well.
