Grazer
Finally got the new dials in. Went fairly smoothly other than the needle rests both snapping http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gcsimpson/new_dials01_small.jpg http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gcsimpson/new_dials02_small.jpg I think a filter to spread the light out a bit better would be good - anyone got any info on that? Aerotop Dave
Does one assume the engine was running at the time or does that rev counter need calibrating...? (1000rpm with engine off)

tDR
lo m8 lookin good, but a set of chrome rings would make it look even better re: the uneven light - did you put the new dials on top of the old ones?

Never taken my dash apart, so this might be a silly sugestion. Is there lots of little lamps behind? if so have some blown, and simply need replacing to get a more even spread. Supra ST Myster
The Supra design for the back lighting is a bit crap really, as it is always brighter in that corner at the 0mph, when changing it to LEDs, to get it like the other brightness i had to fit a higher resistor so the LED isnt as bright as the others, only 4 bulbs for the gauge backlighting. roscodav
The dials that I got from MJ, I think were a little worse re the light. A few of the numbers glowed and the others were so dark you could hardly see them. That was after taking the green covers of the bulbs too. There are some "Mood Lights" that yo ucan get from places like Motorworld, tacky things to light up the center console etc. I took the LED strip of of the middle of two of them and slid them behind the dial faces (plenty of room) wired them in to come on with the lights and now I have the sort or irredesent glow that the new VWs have. Very east, took me an extra 5 MINS
