OMG, we have just been to a car dealer in oldham looking at a xj8 for 10,000 my dad said what will our supra be worth to you he goes in a cocky attitude "what is it a twin or a na" my dad says its a twin turbo and he was half way through saying it has several modifications to it and the c*nt goes "ahh they are worth sh*t, i mean they are worth like 2,000 in japan i can only give you 6,000 for it" no body wants a supra they are old tecnology, so my dad says, i know of supras on mkiv owners club and autotrader that are going for 10,000 without the cams and intercoolers on. "oh no one wants them, old car sh*t to drive" i just fucking walked out. The c*nt.

I'm disappointed, the [/angry] in the subject line indicated that there would be no anger in the thread, now I'm all stressed out.

Sounds like a clown but at the end of the day Supras are pretty worthless to the Arthur Daley trade types if they go on book price and age, clearly he doesn't have much experience of driving them but that's his loss.

PMSL! He said that against an XK8 ?!

Seriously - don't buy one. They're complete lemons.

By mate had an XK-R for 12 months. No lie, 4 months was spent in and out of Jag. Lucky he had a warranty on it. He was gutted he sold a late full spec M3 to get one.

Dealers do not value Supras - unless they're selling them. ;)

My VVTi BPU was quicker - much to his disgust :D

The XKR is powerful, but heavy.

I know this won't be well liked but if a dealer offered me 6k for my TT auto I would take it.

I looked into p/ex my 1994 TT auto against a £10K 3.0 X-type back in December. The guy asked how much I was looking for it and I said £5.5k (I think the book price is about £5k).

The guy said that nobody wants these this type of car anymore and that it is impossible to insure them. He then rang around a few other dealers and said the most he could offer me was £1.5K.

Didn't really want the Jag anyway.

A dealer is never going to offer the same price for p-ex as you would get from a private sale. Although his attitude sucks, I don't think his offer was that bad. The reality is - compared to (e.g.) a Ford Focus, his potential market for a Supra is a lot smaller.

you got to remember they targeting a differnt kind of customer...i used to work for jag, a 2001 car is old hat to them...as we all know..the supra is about 15 years old but STILL perform as quick as there top of the range Xkr..for less then half the price..ha ha rememebr its more embarrassing for them to see a £10,000 car or in there case £6k car over take ther £80k cars..anyway we all know Supra can go up tp £22k easy...

I think far too much importance is attached to how fast a Supra can go. A faster car is not necessarily a better car - and most of the people buying jags are not going to want a TT Supra simply because it's faster.

I can't comment on how good a Jag is - never owned one - but speed isn't everything. A TT Supra would leave my 911 for dead - but in my (personal) opinion, my 911 is a much better car.
