Urgent help went BPU tonight, problem

I went full decat tonight with 1.2 rest ring, all fine and very pleased with first drive of it gave it some over the space of about 5 miles and then a nice calm drive to drop of my mate all fine and no issues big smile on my face.

Coming back from my mates I gave it some fast pace on kickdown to see what boost I was pulling just under 1 bar, it then started to rain so eased off, a few miles after this the engine warning light came on I must have been traveling at appx 55 mph and the engine is very very lumpy and wants to die on me, when i put the foot down it wants to die on me, i pulled over and then it went off but started again on just idle. switched her off and waited and then started up again and all fine went appx 1 mile on it came again with engine wanting to die on me so I limped home but on the way home it woudl right itself and i had my car back for maybe a mile then it would start again.

is it FCD? but remember I had no trouble when i was putting the car through it paces for appx 5 miles (consited of straights and bends. FCD was fitted 4 days ago and no issues yet.

EGT that plugs into 2nd cat this has no where to go what am i meant to do with this? as the CW decat i have does not support an egt sensor, can this be unpluged? and how?

Oh and it used an large amount of fuel over i would say 40 miles max nearly 1/4 tank

It could also be knackered plugs. What plugs did you install after going BPU and what did you gap them too (if at all).

I killed a set of IK22's in les than 2 miles of raising the boost way past their limit.

Edit - as Jake said, check for the ECU error code before you do anything else.

Sorry for the first post as was really tired when I finally crawled home, I will check the error codes tonight.

I have IK24's in brand new from Mkivstore, erm Gapping?? no idea on that I just put them in and made sure they were not loose.

The warning lights were the engine one (I think) which on the right hand side cluster the very first one and the red triangle.

With reconnecting the TPS wire will I not hit fuel cut a lot easier?

I dunno if this maybe anything to do with it I bought a 1.2 bar RR the whole has a diameter of 2.2 inch roughly.

As before the car comes back to me from time to time and then I loose everything, when I had the loose connections at the top of the coil packs the engine was smoother than what it is now.

It is like very very bad kangaroo gas as if the car is ready to stall when you press the acc pedal.

Thanks guys, if I do not get this sorted tonight then thats the trip to Scotland to see my parents off should have bloody waited.

Well it won't be this, normally this is just cable tied up out of the way in case you revert back to stock - it won't cause any adverse affects...

I'd check plugs and sensors first, the error code will get you started...

it used a lot of fuel? so what did you expect? :p

I know the supra uses a lot of fuel and that does not concern me but to travel 45 miles (if that) it has never in the time I have had it used that amount as what it did lastnight, that was what the comment was about and to possible try and iron out possible causes maybe?

I assume your still running on the stock SM intercooler, and this is a UK car with the MAF. Spark plugs wont cause this. You've most likely blown an intercooler pipe. The first one to go is usually down from the throttle body by the battery. I've seen it happen dozens of time, as soon as you turn up the boost those stock hoses can give way. Check all your IC hoses and find the split or separation.

This will cause the MIL light to come on because the car will run super-rich with a leak after the MAF meter (blown IC pipe). You will use a ton of fuel and the car will hardly idle on its own.

Thanks,

J-spec (MAP) according to his sig.

Sounds like the ECU is in limp mode then (CALPAK). Normally caused by detonation picked up by the knock sensors, a faulty primary sensor (TPS, MAP, or O2 sensor), or by hitting fuel cut-off. If the FCD is bad, it may not allow the MAP signal to pass, and can also cause this.

In the US, the first thing we check is the IC pipes!

Thanks,
