from this thread, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=78773 when i went on my holiday i switched the power off on the router, as was away a week , and now i am back switched it back on and the desktop its wired to works fine, but my laptop keeps telling me no wireless connections available, so run a fault finding program and it says network cable unplugged, but i did not unplug nothing just switched the plug off, grrrrr i am going mad with these bloody things:(

What is saying that a network cable is unplugged?

If the PC is happily accessing the net via the router, then the internet connection is ok.

 

This leave the wireless settings, have you checked these to see if they are ok and haven't been screwed by the router being off (They shouldn't have).

turn the laptop off and on again..if that don't work right click on the wireless icon in the bottom right of your screen, choose repair it should disable the the wirless card and release the ip address then re apply for a new one.

 

nope tried that and this little fault finding gizmo comes up and says network bloody cable unplugged yet the one upstairs works no probs, where did i put that fecking hammer:eyebrows:

I assume that you had it up and running before you went away.

Nobody palyed with the laptop to connect it to another wireless access point at all?

 

You might have to go through the setup again.

nooooo not another £152 bloody quid to those robbing feckers, when i left i just switched off at the plug, the only other person with access to the house was a plumber to fit a new bathroom in:blink:

its the new netgear range master that pc fecking world has just dropped the price by half:( i must have mug written across my forehead:rolleyes:

goto internet explorer and type in the address bar http://192.168.1.1 press enter you should get a log on screen?

 

if you do and you have not changed your password (wich you should have) then it will be default admin/admin then check your settings..LOL sorry dude

 

 

where are you based i need some free broadband usage:p oh and i'll change your password so only i can use your router LOL
