Gamer
I run 255's on my 9.5" fronts, I think that 255's are a bit on the small size for 10's

wkdtime
James, i just want to know if its possible safely and if people have this set up, im sure wider has its advantages, but i am just stock at the moment, when more power comes then shall come wider and wider tyres:D

paul mac
have i missed the point here, what the hell is the point of getting 10" wheels then fitting smaller than stock tyres on it

wkdtime
Is the problem that the tyres will be too stretched out on the rim?
jamesmark
Is the problem that the tyres will be too stretched out on the rim? well 255 is perfect for 9.
koolance
ive got 255 on 10" .. . tbh its pretty stretched and i would recommend 265/
letmeshowyou
am i missing something with this stretched business? doesnt 255 actually imply that the tyre is 255mm wide (ie exactly 10")?
Guest Alex B
Depends what you're after, safety wise you should be fine, ask over on Driftworks and they'll tell you to go wider wheels or narrower tyres, and I don't think there are many people who give wheels and tyres more abuse! Hers a pic of Brooksie's 18x10 with 235 tyres on: Alex B
paul ashton
285/30's on mine
Suprash
Thats how the look is acheived, a narrow tyre on a slightly wider wheel. I like it when the side wall looks smaller then it is, and I think this is how its done.....

The stretched tyre look does not do it for me at all. It is bad enough trying to save your wheels from getting curbed with normal size tyres. I would be even more worried doing parallel parking with a tyre/wheel combo such as that. At least with a normal sized tyre for a 10" wheel (Which I consider to be a 265) you have a tiny bit of protection if you buy the right tyre... To each his own though... If thats what you want then go for it.
