LANCASTER INSURANCE, Can my quote really be this good?!!!

Got a quote from Lancaster Insurance yesterday-

It's classic insurance limited to 5000 miles-

Came out at £477!!!

Is it me or is that stupidly cheap?!

I'm 26 with 4 years no claims and 'no bad things' driving a 1994 SZ, mods declared.

They're gonna do that agreed value thing as well when they ask for 6 pics-

It just seems too good to be true!!!

Any thoughts anyone, I was gonna give the club insurers a go but now i'm not sure if I need to bother?!!

Additional perks are that unlike most classic insurance poilices I can still build no claims.

And.. in the event of an accident they'll only take off two of my years no claims!!!

On the phone they actually advised me against no claims protection as for what i'm already entitled to it makes no odds!!!

Does this make sense to anyone because it just seems far too good!!!

Someone on another site has just mentioned that I may need to have another car available to drive, does that sound right?

I'm a named driver on my girlfriends Audi, will that be ok?

Policies can differ quite alot. Best to call Lancaster and clarify

That quotes amazing! I'm 25 and my sz is a 95 manual but the rest of my details except postcode are the same as you and my renewal quote from sky was just over £900.

Don't see why you would need to be insured on another car, best to check that with them but being insured on the audi should be enough. I might try them but 5000 miles a year is a bit low for me.

With a Lancaster Classic Car Policy, you are not covered for 3rd party to drive someone elses vehicle like you usually are with normal policies.

As long as your a named driver on your girlfriends policy, you'll be covered to drive her car.

True, but the cheapest policy Lancaster offered me was a normal (non classic) policy which has protected NCB and I can drive any other car, 15000 miles limit and agreed value.

The quote theyve given says this mate

"Policy gives Proposer Third Party cover when Driving Other Cars

An Excess of £250.00 is applicable for Fire & Theft claims.

Restricted Mileage Policy: 5000.

Green cards are free for certain countries listed in the policy,

providing main permanent residence is in the UK and the visit is a

temporary one.

Insured driver ONLY driving.

Includes Windscreen Cover - Applicable Excess : £50 Unlimited cover,

excluding Sun Roofs. If a specialist glass repairer is NOT used, the

excess is £100.00."

And yes, I am named on her policy...

I just tried churchills 25 years old, 4 years NCB, 95 non turbo. At first I got a quote of £901 or £1104 with protected NCB.

But then I noticed it had selected an RZ TT, so I changed it to SZ and it went down to £793 or £971 with protected NCB which isnt great but my best so far. The hunt continues!

Not any more. Renewals from now on with CIS and I think it's NU no longer give 3rd party on other cars. I posted about it a while back.

I know YOU did supRo that's why the post's headed ANGARAK!!!

lol, soz, I meant that for Angarak too!

I was told they dont offer 3rd party on 'classic car' policies, but do on other policies.

My policy specificly says no 3rd party cover on other vehicles, but I'd be happy to be wrong as I can give them a bell and see if they'll change it :)
