Sharpie
I bought a baffle (£5) which, is a few mm out from the diameter of my exhaust. Baffle is 111.5mm and tail pipe is 118.5mm Now, since I have not seen one close up before, do they need to be a tight fit or could I get away with it ? The only reason I NEED one is to keep dB(A) down at the track. If it needs to be a tight fit, I'll get it mod'd. http://home.btconnect.com/mkivsupra/baffle1.JPG http://home.btconnect.com/mkivsupra/baffle2.JPG
carl0s
I think it needs to be a tight fit. You'd be able to tell though - I mean, is it quieter? I put the baffle in my RSR last week, and was astonished at how quiet the car became. It was almost like the stock exhaust. Unfortunately, it was a very tight fit, and i wasn't able to push it in far enough to get the screw in. Four days later while flooring it down the A653 Dewsbury road in Leeds the fucking thing shot out of my exhaust and I saw it bouncing down the road in my rear view mirror Was rush hour too

carl0s
Yeah I was getting quite used to the quiet ride and whistling turbos again It did kill about 4 - 5 psi of boost though.

Chris Wilson
I turn baffles from billet alloy for the Hyper Silenced. Haven't any done right now and need to get some billet, but if you are in no rush? 45 quid each though, as they take a while to make and the billet in that diameter is expensive. You need to drill and tap exhaust and baffle to fit.
