Nic
I have found a source for replacement stainless steel exhaust manifolds (headers) for the NA Supra. I'm currently in price negotiations with the supplier but initial prices look good. I still need information to work out final delivered costs and will hopefully get photos of the manifold shortly that I will post. I was wondering if there would be any interest in me organising a group buy? I know there are a few members here, who have already fitted similar stainless steel exhaust manifolds and reported noticable performance gains. It would be very useful if you could post up your experience
MattSZ
I would be intrested, are these like the xerd headers you can get from the US ?
Ian C
Winston Wolf got some headers for his NA and he noticed an improvement. It also sounds fantastic -Ian
stevie_b
I might be interested, obviously depends on price. Thanks for looking into this Nic.

Lewis
so..... how exactly does this increase power?
Pete
so..... how exactly does this increase power? Better air flow. I can't imagine the gains are much after decatting anyway.
Lewis
...great minds.....
Whitesupraboy2
Also another question does this replace one cat like the other header, thanks Nic
Prof. Monkey
Here is a pic of the XERD Header
Prof. Monkey
You get a bit better torque though as the XERD headers are long and tubular! Warning: You get a bit more resonance though! I assume NIC is getting these as they are fabbed in China.
Nic
Xerd claim up to 18rwhp increase for theirs, I'm not going to make any claims about performance increases, but welcome anyone who has fitted a stainless steel exhaust manifold to give us there opinion. Equal length (or close to) exhaust runners, should in theory increase the responsiveness of the engine. I am by no means an expert, so if anyone else can elaborate on this then please do. Pete
Xerd claim up to 18rwhp increase for theirs. That would be compared to a standard exhaust I guess to make the figure look better, and not compared to an already decatted NA. Like you say - proof is in the pudding. Prof. Monkey
Anyone in the area is welcome to take a look at the old girl, even though it is off the road, someone with trade plates could take it out and have a bit of a ride round. Must keep within the law
Todd
Also another question does this replace one cat like the other header, thanks Nic
Pete
Sorry - I'm not meaning to pi$$ on Nics chips. Just realised I sounded negative. If I was thinking of decatting my NA all over again I'd go this route. Looks nice!

I still need to get more details and photos of the manifold, it is coming from a reputable source that specialises in Supras, so hopefully the quality will be very good. Prof. Monkey
Of course! We should have had a fireworks group buy!
Pete
Bit late for that now...and I'm not sure they'll get through customs as "second hand car parts"
Nic
:dir: It's not possible to buy fireworks privately here, which is a very good thing IMO as the whole bloody place would go up in smoke! You do get firecrackers going off though at Chinese New Year at fcuking stupid hours of the morning, which gives me a minor heart attack everytime it happens and causes all the local village dogs to go absolutely mental
leonv
The headers is part of the beter balanced and easier flow of gases out the exhaust system. From my personal experience the headers could be worth +- 50% power increase on a complete system change on cars without cats . This could very on different cars and other mods could play a factor
GazzaGSi
Getting excited bout this. Nic, if you could get a price/afew more pics & details that'd be great. Could make a nice xmas pressie for myself
