terribleturner
Can someone tell what exactly these are?? Seems the picture i took before i undid them when installing the manifold didn't come out as well as hoped. Have put them back on in the way they fit naturally, but one came off today which indicated to me they were on the wrong way round.
Ian C
The left hand barb (A) I think goes off to some emissions nonsense, the right hand plastic one with the inline check valve (B) feeds the MAP sensor and the fuel pressure regulator. That really really needs to stay on... -Ian

TRD3000GT
If you have a loose hose on a FPR you will have a catastrophic faliure... Mine are glued and tied on HARD.. If they come off the FPR sees no boost pressure, does not put the right amount of fuel in to the rail for the injectors, You run lean and melt your piston / s
terribleturner
Ooohh bugger. The one to the MAP sensor came off earlier (no boost) but i pulled over and plugged it back in. Do you think this may have been the cause of my ideling problem??

You would think Toyota would put in a failsafe to stop one small vacuum hose causing total engine failure!
IanK
Do you think this may have been the cause of my ideling problem?? Yes, as it will tend to run too rich at idle but dangerously lean under boost. Get that hose clamped on tight! This is what led to Jakes engine faliure! Can't belive toyota didn't build in a fail safe system for this.
TRD3000GT
James, These vacuum pipes are some of the most important pipes on the car to keep connected.. Probably best to zip tie them on hard.. Even go out an dpurchase a full hose techniks kit with more supple hoses that are not so worn/perished and zip tie them on with the colour matching ties.. Its pretty important.. and £100 could save your engine
how_supra
Would that be why an engine warning light keeps flashing on and off then?
terribleturner
If anybody knows great, but could someone have a quick look for me so as i doubley sure, but to which nipple does the hose go to that feeds through the manifold??
