I have 235/40/18 on front and 265/35/18 on the back. I've seen a few supras with that setup but I'm no expert. I'm sure someone else will have more info...Whilst we at this subject, what's the best tyre pressure for the front and back for this sort of setup? Lez Posted January 13, 2005 Share Posted January 13, 2005 The original stock wheels were 16s 8JJ 225/50/16 and 9JJ 245/45/16 with rolling diameter 631mm & 627mm respectively However, from Aug94 the optional stock wheels were 17s 8JJ 235/45/17 and 9.5JJ 255/40/17 making the rolling diameters 643mm & 636mm respectively. Therefore best size for 18s are 235/40/18 = 645mm and 255/35/18 = 636mm However the recommended deviation is 2.5% so the max oversize from the 17s is; Front 245/45/17 = 652mm +1.4% 245/40/18 = 653mm +1.56% 245/35/19 = 654mm +1.71% Rear 275/40/17 = 652mm +2.52% 275/35/18 = 650mm +2.2% 275/30/19 = 648mm +1.89% Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm getting the aforementioned 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear. I assume that means they'll be ok? Yes the tyre size looks good for the rolling diameter, but you might be better with 255/35/18 =636mm and 295/30/18 = 634mm to fit the wheel rim width better. Also check that the wheels are 50mm offset (ET50) and that they will clear the brake callipers and suspension. With this offset the backspace from the hub to the inboard rim will be 7" for the 9s and 8" for the 10.5s Maybe someone with 9s & 10.5s fitted could comment.
