PS3 Slim

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of getting my old PS2 out, as I want to play some the old PS1 games again now too! Unless the PS3 can play them? :)

It can't :( PS3 that is... PS2 can play PS1 games

I know... I had an inkling for some Tony Hawks 3 action the other day.. might have to plug in my PS2 :D

(after spending £300 on this useless piece of crap!? :complain:)

I know that the PS2 can play PS1 games, but has trouble storing any settings/progress of certain types of older games, which can be a little frustrating, unless you left it on the whole time.

I have so many older games, and sometimes would just love to give them another go. Maybe I'll have to dig my old PS1 out too! ;)

Anyone have one for sale or know of any good bundle deals? The 120GB one will be fine for me.

My launch model 60GB has finally given up :(

May I point you to my endeavour?

My 60Gb bought on launch day (without an extended warranty) from Game died the other month. Most have a small few common faults which are the responsibility of the retailer to sort for you.

My new 250Gb slim from Game is now being shipped. Didn't pay a penny either :D

Depends on use I guess. Lasers tend to go in the PS3 after lots of use.

All PS3's can play PS1 games. Only some PS3's (The 60GB versions) can play PS2 games.

Believe me though, PS1 games don't look too hot on a 50" screen.

That's good news that they can play them, but what about saving progress etc., as the PS2 had trouble back when that came out?

If the PS3 can indeed play the older games and save them, then I will start saving for one of these right now!

I've not had any issues with save games. Pretty sure the PS3 saves to the HDD. It creates a fake memory card or something like that, can't remember exactly. Worked with Tomb Raider though.

Ive got the original Command and Conquer on my PS3 HD and when it starts up the PS1 logo looks horrible, but still funny to play:D
