MaveriK
And no its not the misses telling me i am going too fast. Sounds like its coming from back passenger wheel but its hard to trace and as stated its intermittent. Any ideas? If it were a bearing in the wheel or gearbox would it not be constant? Stonkin
If your wheel bearings are on the way out, they will will generally make more noise when cornering (as far as i know) Jack the car up and wiggle the wheels at equal positions all around to see if there is any play
bodilx6
Might it be you differential? When is the sound noticeable? When constant throttle @ a certain speed or?
MaveriK
There does not seem to be any pattern to the noise, can be rolling forward slowly or at pace. The note seems to change pitch if the brakes are applied but that could be me going mad.
Dnk
Wheel bearing would be where i'd look 1st and its easy to check.
MaveriK
Well, its the fecking caliper apparently, took it to a garage in the end as i was getting no where with it. Its seized and taken the pads and disc with it, didnt feel anything like that bad while driving it, i must be losing it! And to cap it off £632 to replace caliper, disc, pads etc, i feel sick. Did not want to risk driving it too far either, wish i had had more time and i could have gone to Nic and got Uk replacements. Did i mention the sickness i was feeling? Dan8
that sounds a bit odd i would of thought wheel bearing did they road test it & what if they do all this & its still there & the bearing wants doing
MaveriK
Yes, it was road tested. If its still there after the work i shall be even more un-impressed than i am right now
