I dunno if there is much interest in this but would make an interesting little project or a very nice run arround for someone if they want to spend a little bit to get it running nice...

Im going to post it up on behalf of my grandad. It belonged to my gran who passed on earlier in the year and who was in a home for a few years before that so i dont think its been driven properly for at least 5 years but probably more!

Details are a bit sketchy at the moment but i can get some more if people want it.

September 1987 Suzuki Swift GLX Executive.

1.3

Automatic

Air con

Electric everything

Only done 150 miles since a new exhaust was fitted.

Hardly any mileage, approx 9000 (yes 9000!!!) miles on the clock.

Perfect condition.

Garaged its entire life

As far as we know no accidents or even bumps.

The classic one careful lady owner car.

Taken off road 4 years ago.

4.5 years since last MOT and new exhaust.

Run up and down drive for first 2 years it was off the road but not since.

Bad bits.

No tax, MOT or insurance and has flat tyres and battery.

Not sure when it was last run.

He wouldn't expect much for it, would only expect a few hundred probably

Interesting development.

Just spoken to my dad.

He has spoken to someone who deals on cars on my grandads road who took a look at the car. He said although this type of car wasnt his speciality it might be worth as much as £1000 or "to the right buyer" £1500!

For anyone interested... my grandad knows this, and knowing him like i do wont want to let it go "cheep" he likes to get what things are worth! My dad thinks he should be happy with half that but im sure my grandad things otherwise!

Also checking http://www.carreg.co.uk/number_plates/search/VET

The number plate alone could be worth over 2 grand.

As far as my dad sees it this can be taken into account with the offer on the car if you want to keep the plate then sell it on after. Or we can sell the plate seperate.

It hasnt been run for a couple of years but i imagine it is still fine. Probably needs fluids and i guess a few hozes etc have perrished. Its not worth my dad or my grandad getting it running sweetly as its of no use to eather of them. Just need it shifting. If anyone wants to have a look i can be up there this weekend. PM me if you want to come take a look.

But the buyer will probably need to have it towed as it needs new tyres, battery and has no mot etc.

Its not my car. Its over 100 miles away from myself (its in barnsley)

If you want, you can have a plate lol. Anyway, I can understand sentiments about this car and friend saying how much some cars are worth, it is still auto Suzuki Swift from 1987 at the end of the day. You should hear, how much some poeple think my red Supra is worth  1 grand is too much for me, if your grandfather/father will come with realistic price tho, I'm here and can view car anytime you want.

Hey don't knock it, theres a nova on ebay with a £7k asking price with more miles on it than this :D Its down no doubt to the collectability factor and I doubt there are very many swifts in the entire world with those miles on.

cant imagine its very colectable. lol.

He may take less as selling the plate seperately might be hastle we believe it has to be taxed mot'd and ensured to transfer the plate. which will cost a bundle. And apparently after getting a few quotes it might only be worth a couple of hundred. He is currently weighing up what to do with it at the moment. Still for sale though and if anyone wants to view it let me know and ill give you my dads number who is handling the sale.
