Matt H
The bones of it is the cars not running properly, or at all as it seems.. see below This problem seems to be two fold. Picked the car up from Hyper yesterday evening. I asked Mr Wild to meet with me to have a look as it was just not running right. (Cheers for that bud ) From the off it seemed not right but it got worse. At first it seemed like it was missing now and again. when i got on the road i accelerated, but there seemed to be no grunt there. the turbos were spooling normaly and the BOV was dumping but there seemed to be no boost going to the engnine. By the time i met up with Rob the car was not running well at all. the missing seemed to be worse and it was hard to get the car to go get going fast in the slightest. The exhaust was blurby and irrelgular. By the time i was a few mile from my house what seems to be the second problem kicked in. (or maybe its just the first one getting worse anyway, the transmition seemed to be slipping further and further away from the power of the engine. the cars was at 4.5k rpm and moving like a slug. By the time i got to my house, and this is an absolute stroke of luck, i pulled up just before the drive and it stopped completely from pulling. 6k rpm in "D" and the car woudlnt budge! The engine seemed to engage the box though as in D without a touch of the accelerator the revs rised, it just wouldnt move the rear wheels. Got a few peoplet to help me push the car onto the drive. I'm convinced however that something hasnt been put back right. I mean the engine was perfect before the swap, and so was the transmission, so it must be something to do with not sorting electricals or not putting something back right. I tell you something though. i'm sick of paying mechanics top dollar. How the hell there should be something wrong with the engine and / or transmission is beyond me. The amount of my money thats go down the drain only to pay someone else to throw it down the drain is a joke. Dont know whether to laugh of cry!! Whitesupraboy2
unlucky mate, maybe its the torque convertor?
Gaz6002
Did you drive the car after the crash Matt? Did it seem to run OK then? The impact could have damaged something. This exact thing happened to my mate with his RX7 and he was heartbroken. He's now lost interest in cars because of it.

Matt H
unlucky mate, maybe its the torque convertor? Good point, could be indeed. Did you drive the car after the crash Matt? V.good point. what could the impact have done though? it didnt encroach the engine bay apart from the fan and all the stuff before the fan like the radiator was replaced. the actual engine seemed fine. Couldnt drive the car as the impact was front left which wasted the wheel etc
AndrewOW
Sorry to hear of your woes, considering how much you've spent on it. Wish I had sort of money to 'throw around'. Its still looks fabulous though Matt. Maybe its best if you put it in a glass cabinet and just looked at it from now on
RobSheffield
Seems odd Matt. Seems like it could be a TC fault, it happens (iirc similar happened to RedMs car.) With the running issues though im wondering if thats affected the autobox - i.e its not running smooth so not changing smooth EDIT - TC being torque converter not traction control. Matt H
funny you should say Traction control as that light is flashing too. along with the ABS light and the warning light..
RobSheffield
IF you have lights flashing did you or Rob check error codes?
JODY T
Did they remove the engine and box together? or did they split? If the TC is not removed proplerly it can be damaged... Also was the Oil in it Black when it came out? (Im guessing you can answer this) Because if it was thats a bad sign, changing the oil for brand new stuff is usually the death of it JT

JustGav
Checked the fluids? Bear in mind the auto has a cooler on the rad, and if they have disconnected the rad it would have leaked fluid...has it been filled up properly?

Matt H
Just been to check the fault codes and nothing happened Bridged E1 and TE1 with a paper clip, turn the key to position two and nothing
RobSheffield
Sometimes 'dry solder' on the PCB of that bank of warning lights can mean that it wont flash
JustGav
No will check the fluids Thing to remember is that the TC holds a LOT of fluid, and this MAY have drained away while the rad was out, simply topping up via the dipstick would give a false reading till all the fluid had recirculate.
