SteveR
The factory is here in the town where I live (Malvern, Worcestershire) and we popped in on a spur of the moment thing to see if they ever let the public have a nosey. (I've been here 7.5 years and never asked!) "Of course, it's a self-guided tour though, is that ok?" Excellent!! Dan (4) loves Morgans so we were straight in - I'll let the pics do the talking: P.S. If anyone fancies a meet here (maybe combine with a bit of a drive round the Malverns - or even into the Brecons as well!) - then I'll arrange one for a bank holiday, as the factory tours are only on weekdays like today. Shout if it's of interest The factory is basically a load of old buildings on a single, quite small site, each building has a different function... Outside: "Despatch Department" - finished cars ready for collection: Next door, a few older cars on show: "Chassis erecting shop": ...engine going in... ...lots more waiting!... "Wing & Body Shop": Tin Shop: Wood Shop: (the parts buckets were full of bits of car - all made of wood - it's a bizzare sight! ) Trim Shop/Test & Finishing:

SteveR
Wow that is cool Good day out there i suspect! Well weird seeing wooden Chassis! It was really, really bizzare - and not because it was a surprise, it wasn't - I've known since forever that the original ones are built out of wood. It was mainly odd because I kept thinking.... I could nip round to focus and stick one of these together myself! Not true of course, it might "only" be wood but there is a lot of craftmanship, and it's brilliant to witness. Paul
Great place, I got a day out there about 5 years ago as the company I worked for then supplied aluminium to them. We also made and supplied several parts for the Aero 8. Real nice people and all proud of what they produce.
bignum
I bet dan loved that, did he ask any of the employees where the supra`s were with 100 exhausts. Also the factory looked cool but the 1 thing that really did not fit in is the bmw engine.
Pete
Looks like a good place to look around. I'm amazed at the freedom they give you to take pics and wonder about. Even Westfield had a moan at me when I visited their factory taking pictures - and you can buy them in kit form?!
SteamAhead
It's nice not to see a robot in site Agree with Pete though, very surprised they let you walk anywhere and take pics.
SteveR
Agree with Pete though, very surprised they let you walk anywhere and take pics. We took a camera, expecting to be told where to go, but the nice lady at reception said "take pictuers of whatever you want, but if there will be any close ups with a member of staff in shot, please ask them if they mind being in the picture, first."
