reving to 7000 rpm

hey every1 was just wondering what rpm supras usualy red line? mine only revs to 7000 rpm its got a HKS fuel and ignition ecu in it and was wondering if thats restricting the revs? would it not be programed right to restrict the revs?

Standard rev limit is 6800rpm, the rev counter usually over reads a little. You don't want to be going higher than this without a lot of internal modifications to the head and engine.

ahrite thanks mate. its was just that my dials go in2 amber at 7000 then they go into the red at 8000. which sorta made me think the limiter was ment to be at 8000

You probably will find another limiter circa 8000 revs, it's called a con rod bolt

I thought stock limit was 7200rpm for non VVTI and 7500rpm for VVTI.

My rev limit is set to 7500rpm.

I was driving my NA in manu mode the other day. Pulled out of a junction in 1st when some kid shouted something at me, I looked and forgot to change into 2nd. The rev limiter kicked in at about 7500rpm. That surely cant be good for my engine. In auto mode when pushing it it changes at about 6800rpm.

I thought stock limit was 7200rpm for non VVTI and 7500rpm for VVTI.

 

My rev limit is set to 7500rpm.

6850rpm for normal, 7200rpm for VVTi. My limit is 7200rpm at the moment.

I have just checked and last year I was running 7200 rev limit and now 7500, I might knock it back down just to be safe.

Ian do you cut ign and fuel at the same time or one after the other?

I dont hit the limiter that much, only 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 2step launching

Fuel cut is how Wez knows to shift

EDIT i know the stock ecu do fuel cut but standalone soft cut fuel cut is different to toyota hit the window fuel cut
