Branners
We are pleased to announce the first ever mkiv Supra Owners Club RWYB event at Santa Pod. We have arranged with Santa Pod to have exclusive use of the drag strip and surrounding area on Saturday 21st April 2007. We have paid for the drag strip to be fully prepped to give the best possible grip and Santa Pod will provide marshals and emergency cover for the event. We have limited the number of competitors to 75 cars. This means you should get a number of runs during the day without the usual queues for a RWYB. The cost for competitors is £52 per person for unlimited runs. If you wish to compete then you must sign up and pay before the event, please see below for more details. Spectators are also welcome and are charged at £5 per person. Tickets can be purchased before the event or on the day. Children under 16 get in for free. Santa Pod will be opening up the cafe on the day. I have frequented the cafe many times and can heartily recommend the food! As they will be providing hot food facilities you will not be able to bring any cooking equipment of your own. This event is strictly invite only. All club members are automatically invited, and may also bring along guests. Full terms and conditions for attending this event are below. mawby
We have also arranged with Sky Insurance to have a special 'rain stops play' insurance for competitors, so that if the day gets rained off and nobody can compete then we should be able to refund your competitors money. There are obviously terms and conditions on this but in outline if the track cannot be used or dried off then we will get paid out. Sky Insurance have kindly offered to pay for this insurance cover to show their support for the club. COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE - Sky Insurance have also managed to arrange a special insurance cover for your cars whilst participating in this event. This insurance will cover accident damage only and will cost the following depending on the sum insured... Up to £5,000. Premium £35 Up to £10,000. Premium £50. Up to £15,000. Premium £60. Up to £20,000. Premium £70. No cover for cars over £20k is available. Please see the full Terms & Conditions for more details about the cover, but please note the "Competitive driving" clause is not relevant in our case thanks to Sky Insurances negations with the underwriters. Anyone interested in this insurance cover should contact Sky Insurance direct and ask to speak to Jae. Sky Insurance will need all interested members to have contacted them and paid at least one week before the event. They will then send all the policies documentation to myself and I will distribute it at the event to the correct people.
mawby
This is a private club event and entrance is by invitation only. All club members are automatically invited, but those wishing to attend must add their name to the calendar list clearing stating how many guests they will be bringing with them. Participation in this event is by pre-arranagement only, and is on a first come, first served basis. Payment to paritcipate is required to secure your place. All participants must be aged 21 or over. Please ensure you bring along your driving license as either the club officials, or Santa Pod staff, may ask to check this before you are allowed to participate. Participants will be asked to provide us with the license plate number so that the security guard can check you are allowed on the track. Spectators not attending in a Supra should bring along their membership card to ensure they can get past security. Participants in this event will be expected to abide by the terms & conditions stipulated by Santa Pod Raceway Limited. This includes wearing a helmet if your expected terminal speed is in excess of 100mph. All members, including their guests, are expected to behave in a suitable manner at all times. Any behaviour or driving that is likely to bring the club into disrepute, or causes danger to another member or their guests, will result in the member and their guests being asked to leave the event with no recourse to a refund from the club. Any members or guests who bring along children are reminded that this is a motor sport event and therefore has the dangers associated with any motor sport. All children attending this event must be under constant adult supervision. This is an alcohol free event! No alcohol is allowed on the site – this includes for guests and non-participants of the events. Any participants suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused access to the track with no recourse to a refund from the club. There will be a 20mph speed limit imposed whilst driving around the site. There is to be no racing, doughnuts, wheel spins, skidding or any other unacceptable driving whilst on the site, with the exception of participating in the drag race event itself. You are not allowed to bring or use any cooking equipment (BBQs, gas stoves etc) as Santa Pod prohibits this. Santa Pod will be either opening their café or a food van for hot food and drinks. You may bring along cold food or soft drinks as long as you collect together your rubbish and take it home with you. The club has already paid Santa Pod the full amount to secure the booking; therefore we will start collecting the money from people wishing to participate straight away. Spectators can pay in advanced but they are also allowed to pay at the gate. No refunds will be given if you fail to attend the event, or if you are refused access to the track for any reason. Althought the club has secured cancellation insurance for this event, there are many terms and conditions for the policy that could mean we get no pay out even if the event is cancelled. Therefore you should assume that if this event is cancelled, and the club is unable to receive a full refund from Santa Pod or the insurers, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY! By agreeing to these terms and conditions you further indemnify the organisers from and against all legal liability in respect of any costs, claims, damages, demands, penalties, actions, proceedings, suits, losses or expenses in respect of or arising out of the injury to or the death of any person, or damage to any property arising from your participation in the activity. Due to the limited time we have to receive payments we will only be accepting payments via PayPal. Spectators can either pay in advance or on the gate - as long as their name is on the above calendar list. Competitors must pay in advanced to secure a place. There are only 70 places available and these will go on a first come, first served basis. Paypal payments should be made to Spectators should send £5 plus an additional £5 per guest that you are bringing. Participants/Competitors shoud send £52 plus £5 per guest you are bringing. Children under 16 get in for free. On the Paypal payments please use the title Supra Pod 2007 and make sure you include your username, your real name and, for participants, your cars license plate number, in the space for the extra/delivery details. A list of license plate numbers will be given to the security gaurd and only those on the list will be allowed onto the track. The following lists will be updated daily to show received payments. If you have made a payment and your name doesn't appear in a day or so, please contact a moderator to ensure your space is not given to someone else. mawby
Attached is the participants & spectators paid list. If your name is not on the participants list then you wont get to run! I've composed an Excel workbook and attached it for easy updating and decent formatting. I will update this each evening to reflect payments that come in each day. A number of people have not read the instructions above properly and as such have not provided the full information requested. If there is a '**Not Given**' anywhere on your entry line in the spreadsheet then please email with the subject heading 'Supra Pod 2007 Information Update For insertmembernamehere' and give the missing information along with the spreadsheet row number for your line. If you do not provide the full information you may have problems getting in on the day. Cheers, Brian / tDR.Supra Pod 2007.xls

tDR
Just to let people know I will be updating the list periodically, most likely each evening - so don't panic when you don't appear straight away! Cheers, Brian.
tDR
To those that have enquired about refunds because they now can't run: You can sell your space on privately to someone else or we will refund £45 of the £52 to cover fees. Please email with the subject 'Supra Pod 2007 Refund Request For insertmembernamehere' to let me keep track of this. Include your competitor number in the email. JB did strikethrough on this while we discuss this bit Spectator tickets will not be refunded. Cheers, Brian.
mawby
Deadline for payments is 6PM FRIDAY 20th APRIL. This will give tDr enough time to update the sheets so we can print them off for Saturday. Due to the number of spaces remaining, we will be accepting payment for racing on the day. Make sure you bring the cash with you along with your membership card. It's at the discretion of whoever is on the gate as to whether they will let you race or not.
mawby
Also, please remember to either bring your membership card with you or print off a copy of the Membership Confirmation page. If you have guests attending who are not arriving with you then please print off a copy of the Membership Confirmation page and give it to them. This will make identifying who is allowed in much easier and will hopefully prevent any queues building up when the convoys start to arrive. tDR
FINAL Paid List Spreadsheet updated and attached as of 9PM 20th April 2007. 59 competitors total + 71 spectators pre-paid. Thinking ahead to the day - please give your competitor number or spectator list number to the person on the gate when you arrive, this will minimise delays from people trying to scan a spreadsheet to find your name / reg. Cheers, Brian.
