Dimmer bypass

I know it's been discussed before, I've searched but not found the definitive answer.:search:

Which two wires do you join to bypass the dimmer switch? I've checked the wires in the connector and appear to have one earth and 2 +12v.

The panel fuse is fine.

I've tried bridging the two +12v, but no luck.

Any help mucho appreciated.:)

Found the answer on SF.:)

Join the two white striped wires.

White/green to white/black.

Ignore the other one (orange/green).

The advice on SF was to put a fuse in the bypass, just in case it's not the dimmer at fault and there's a short somewhere else. The fuse protects against frying anything else while trying the bypass.

I used a 7.5amp fuse for extra safety. Tried succesfully.

The only downside is the dimmer I bought off ebay cost £30.:(

Alan M, sorry mate, this probably doesn't help you.
