Pair of Reconditioned Turbos

VIL

Recommended Posts

As I have now sold my Supra I have a pair of reconditioned turbos for sale.

I bought them years ago thinking they may be useful but they have been sat (boxed up) in my garage for years.

The guy I bought them from had them reconditioned in 2004 (at a cost of £1500), fitted them to his car, did a few 1000 miles with them then went single so as you can see they are in great condition.

This is however as much as I know about them so please take this into consideration when making an offer, they are being 'Sold as Seen'.

Re the price, I have had a look round at what others have gone for on this site but I am open to offers.

If your interested PM me.

Fractional movement in the shafts but unsure if thats normal? Blades are unmarked and if it helps I think they are steel internals.

Unfortunately I am no expert so much of what I tell you is from a novice perspective.

aaaah a novice eh............. £20?

Novice = Yes

Daft = No :)

To be honest I dont have a specific price in mind, I know what they owe me but thats nothing to go by as I bought them years ago.

I am pretty realistic so I wont be offended at sensible offers.

I know this is a vague answer but I guess I am going to be guided by what people are willing to pay for them.

Will these fit straight onto a J-Spec Supra or were they UK fitment?

Carl

EDIT....

Sorry, mis-read your question. Thought you where asking if they would fit a UK model.

Yes, the guy I bought them from had them fitted to his J-Spec JZA80.

As has be mentioned, can you indicate what sort of price you will be looking at?

I can only assume these are in good working order with good seals. Cant imagine anything worse than buying second hand turbo's only to find they smoke like the ones you removed.

I guess without certainty on the turbo's condition the price must reflect that..

Hi Carl

Well having looked on the site old turbos with some miles in them go for £150+ and some recons in the past have gone for £750+ so I guess somewhere inbetween.

I have tried to describe them the best I can with as many photos as possible but anyone making an offer needs to treat this as 'sold as seen'.

I find it difficult to decide what is a fair offer for these turbos.

given that theres no real way of knowing if they are in good working order or not untill they are fitted.

I could be buying two good turbo's or else I could be buying to lumps of metal that need rebuilding anyway.

Taking that into account I will make an offer of £250.
