Darren-K
I DONT THINK YOU DID ANYTHING WRONG THERE FELLA ! i would never of guessed that just a layer of paint would throw wheel balance off., i mean surely people spray there hubs with clear laquer etc ? i cant seriously see that paint ( micrograms ) would throw it out,. what about say if someone uses metal valve caps on there tyres when the wheels are designed for plastic ones,. or even say,. you squeel to a halt locking up your tyres - surely the amount of rubber you would loose on the wheel lock up/skid marks - be MORE than the weight of a couple of layers of paint on the hubs ? i doubt it was the paint

colsoop
I don't think it was the paint Edd, unless you applied it with a trowel or something. Shame you didn't go for a drive after removing the paint as i bet you would have still got that wobble.

Jake
i would never of guessed that just a layer of paint would throw wheel balance off., i mean surely people spray there hubs with clear laquer etc ? i cant seriously see that paint ( micrograms ) would throw it out,. what about say if someone uses metal valve caps on there tyres when the wheels are designed for plastic ones,. or even say,. you squeel to a halt locking up your tyres - surely the amount of rubber you would loose on the wheel lock up/skid marks - be MORE than the weight of a couple of layers of paint on the hubs ? You misunderstand mate. It's nothing to do with the weight of the paint causeing a problem, it's because the paint has not been applied in a uniform thickness and this causes the wheel to no be perfectly flat against the face of the hub like it must be. Do you see what I'm getting at?
