Kev.O
Apart from the egr section at the back, does anyone know if there are any other differences between a UK spec head and j-spec head (minus the cams) ie position of the exhaust/intake studs. If not then would it make sense for me to fit a j-spec head as I want to remove the egr anyhow and finding a UK spec head is proving a little difficult! damouk
dont think the EGR has anything to do with the head, pretty sure its bolted to the inlet manifold and exhaust

Chris Wilson
But is a UK intake and exhaust manifold stud pattern exactly the same as a J-Spec? IE, will manifolds swap between the 2 heads? Thats what Kev needs to know. Thanks.
Kev.O
Spoke to Steve Manley today and although Toyota do two versions of cylinder heads both the part numbers for the inlet and exhaust manifolds are the same, so it looks like i'll be able to use a j-spec head. I removed the egr block on my cylinder head today to have a look at what it does. It simply connects the inlet pipe to a hole that goes into the exhaust side ie behind number 6. Peter10654
I've an UK Spec and I have had an engine damage. I swap the whole engine to a J-Spec engine. Everythings fits perfect. Original intake manifold and HKS exhaust manifold from the PHR single setup. Only difference I found, the EGR on the back of the head and the Cams. michael
Losing the EGR this way is probably tidier than going with blanking plates anyway

Ian R
Did you ever find out if they do interchange or not. As I am looking at replacing my head and may have found a UK one to put on a J-spec
Kev.O
The only difference is an extra part on the back that allows the egr to run behind the head and into the rear of the 6th cylinder exhaust port. All you would need is a block off plate AFAIK
