1JZGTE
Can I just het a sense check pls. Obviously I want to keep the speedo accurate, so am I correct in thinking that the following will be best suited: FRONTS = 245 45 17 REARS = 265 40 17 That's ok, right? TTRickeh
I think 235 front and 255 rear are the stock sizes. So if you go for those I think your speedo will be slightly out as the profile will be higher as it's a % of the tyre width.
1JZGTE
Yep, I know they won't be exactly spot on, but in terms of the height / width ratio, is 45 front and 40 rear the best option?
TTRickeh
Yeah, those are the stock profile sizes and should be best. Edited to add... Homer made up this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=2367193&postcount=35 You can check the effects of the tyre widths/profiles there. Changing the profiles down a bit to accomodate the widths swings the overall diamater too low, the stock profiles keep it the closest to the original wheel diameter. garethr
Measured against the stock Soarer TT size of 225/55-16: 245/45-17 is -0.2% 265/40-17 is -1.5% http://powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi
1JZGTE
Thanks, Gareth, v.useful link. I have computed the original Soarer tyre width of 225 55 16, and then the standard Supra tyres widths, and lastly, what I would like to run on the Supra OEM 17s, being 245 and 265... http://fileserver7.jpghosting.com/images/tyres_8d2a5ff0fd90dca64115d4e910734a3b.jpg
