Turbo Timer Vs. Alarm

Well I finally fitted my turbo timer and it works...

When I turn the ignition off and get out of the car the engine continues to run and timer count down as it should, but pressing the button on my remote to set the alarm doesn't do anything until the engine has actually shut off. Is this something that I can change as obviously it kinda defeats the object of having a turbo timer if I can't alarm the car and walk away before the engine shuts off. Or is it just that my alarm/imobiliser is pap?

What you need is a Clifford G4 my friend ;)

It is the only way you can do what your asking... You may as well have an an egg timer in the car and turn the engine off when its done!

i have clifford concept 600 with remote start, use it as a turbo timer.on way back from dragon autosports i pulled into services and left it running.went to get a macdonalds and this traffic cop cam in and asking for my name was only in 5 mins and someone had rang police and said some one had left car running and they thought it was a bomb or something so they reported it.thes bike cop came in and was fuming, shouting the odds and telling me they were going to call the army bomb squad in to blow my car up.it was such a shock.i was telling him its part of the alarm to let turbos cool down.he was propper mad.

i felt about 1" tall.

i can laugh about it now

i would have thought they might have an idea about alarms n stuff.he knew fook all the big daft fooker.he was piss wet through too so it cant have helped.

did not want to give him an excuse to go over car with a fine tooth comb so did not argue with him.wouldnt mind i have a blitz turbo timer in shed doing nothing too.

On another note, how do people stick it to the underside of the dash? I got some velcro strips with a sticky back but the bloody thing just won't stay stuck there for long.

Should any compentent auto-electrician be able to do what it mentions on Arnaut's site? I don't even want to attempt to do that.
