bolarbag
My mate Vinie that used to be on here "supratoy" had a Kazz LSD, did the trick, Defo held up to abuse, Vinie liked his drifting:cool:
Chris Wilson
A 2 way??? Totally unsuitable for a road or track day car, you need a 1 or 1.5 way (to use the dreadful numeric description the Japs seem to like for LSD's). It'll corner entry understeer like a whatsit with a 2 way.
supra matt
Your have fun running it in mate you got to spend 40 Min's doing big figer of 8 not drifting tho low speed then you got to empty the oil strate out and refill . My mates got one in his s13 makes such a big difference .
tDR
Likely to groan / creek / generally feel and sound like your car is going to fall apart at low speeds manouvreing too. Not really suitable for a road car IMO and will make it understeery as Chris says unless you throw it sideways all the time.... then it'll be nice to balance the throttle on for some decent oversteer but that would get quickly tiring! Cheers, Brian.
tDR
Just to add, mine has a TRD 2-way fitted which is pretty tame in comparison to a Kaaz and has decent on road manners. However I have noticed at track speeds throwing it about is an understeery nightmare.
Nic
For reference Cusco and ATI also make LSD's for the Supra. ATI do a version with carbon fibre friction discs which is big money. http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/parts_product/products/lsd_typers_typemz.html http://www.a-t-s.co.jp/02lsd/character/img/carbonlsd.gif

JamieP
I hear ya;) ive got to do something this friction modifier stuff is driving me up the wall, its a very thin line between a very noisy diff and one wheel spinning and when i think its just right i overheat it and it sounds terrible. Chris Wilson
The best friction modifier for plate type LSD's is made by Chrysler, and is used when customers moan about Jeep Cherokee rear diffs juddering. Any Chrysler dealer should stock it, put 3 bottles in it.
JamieP
I can make it silent and smooth with the stuff i have but if i put in to much it just spins one wheel all the time and i go nowhere. Ill give the chrysler stuff a try though, cheers.
tDR
I'd always thought the TRD was a "1.5". 2-way only on FR layout cars like ours. Have a look at: http://www.nengun.com/trd/limited-slip-differential-mechanical Cheers, Brian.

JamieP
So all supra TRD diffs are 2 way?
supratoy
Yes had this in my old supra, felt good for going sideways but never had it on track so cant comment how bad it would understeer on track.
Chris Wilson
The TRD JZA80 diffs I have fitted are NOT 2 way, and not very tightly set anyway. I have fitted at least 8 of them.
