Alex
Good grief he's at it again... Ryan Woon takes the stock 6-speed record again with an 8.86@168mph. That's 1400RWHP thru a Stock driveline (gearbox, prop, etc...the Diff is TRD.) Oh and it was a rubbish launch apparently! lol Think he'll be in the 8.6's soon. Pig
hmmm, sounds so appealing. Then you think of all the money and the fact that the car can only really be used for that. Ill stick with mine as it is for now!
raymanuk
impressive Unless it can be driven like the Bugatti Veyron i'm with pig on this one. Any Vid's Alex?
Alex
I don't think even Ryan would try to claim it's going to pull like that on the street....street tyre's and not a prepped track makes a Supra a handful to launch! Homer
TH400:yes: Sorry for going off topic, question for mig : I always thought the powerglide's were a 1960/70's box, how far removed is this (TH400) box from the old school muscle car ones? chilli
jeez that is amazing, through a stock manual drivetrain FFS! I'd think this was bullsh1te if I'd have heard it down the pub and not on this forum lol So whoever says supe auto's are better than manuals for dragging, and then promptly highlights auto cars that don't use the stock auto drive train, ahem... attilauk
that is seriously impressive!
Soop Dogg
So whoever says supe auto's are better than manuals for dragging, and then promptly highlights auto cars that don't use the stock auto drive train, ahem... Chilli, you seem determined to continue the auto vs manual thing, don't you? If you had been around this forum for any length of time you'd realise just how OLD the argument is getting. Just remember, the cars we're talking about in this thread bear little overall resemblance to what we drive on the street so how relevant is it to how OUR cars might perform? I think we can only marvel at how both of the cars involved have got to the stage they are at.
chilli
lol erm it looks like it might be you who needs to get over it you are right, they bear little resemblance to our cars, but a stock manual drivetrain is a whole lot closer than a Powerglide TH400... at the end of the day I found it very interesting and was just pointing that out, not debating it since there is nothing to actually debate or argue about here... Ryan Woon's amazing car has shown that
Ian C
lol erm it looks like it might be you who needs to get over it Yep, Soop Dogg keeps dragging it up by saying stuff like "So whoever says supe auto's are better than manuals for dragging, and then promptly highlights auto cars that don't use the stock auto drive train, ahem... " Oh no, hang on... I've got a manual and auto Supras murder me off the line heresy! burn the witch! -Ian

Bob
I'd be interested to know how many times he has replaced the stock drive train though. Bloody impressive none-the-less.
