Rota GT-R - Dish?

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can get the Rota GTR rims with a Dish, maybe 1" or something? Which offset would I ask for here?

Hi, you will probably find the info your after by speaking directly to one of the many traders on here, Pro-alloys, Sumo, Whifbitz, Envy etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

i don't think you can mate. however they do come in different widths (basically the spokes recess more creating a concave look).

tdR has some on his car and they look VERY nice with the deeper rim on the back.

i have a set of rota GTR's on my supra, the fronts and rears have different offsets and so a different 'dish' as you call it.

on the rear the spoke dish in towards the hub quite a lot with quite a wide lip on the rim, on the fronts the spokes are pretty much flat with no lip. you can't fit wider wheels to the front without spacers or clearance problems or both.

i wouldn't get them from rarerims.co.uk though. they sent me the wrong wheel nuts for a supra and when i fitted them with a ratchet gun and trashed two hubs worth of studs they just laughed when i called them to complain. great customer service.

i'll try get a pic so you can see what they look like on the car.

the sizes you need for a supra are

Front - 18x8.5 5x114.3 PCD 40 ET (double check the offset for the front, not sure about this one)

Rear - 18x9.5 5x114.3 PCD 30 ET

added a picture. wheels look shit with suspension too high and that nose cone. lowered it more with a stock front end now and wheels look great. i went for the silver with a polished lip.

Rota GTR's are probably the only wheels i would consider coughing up for. I like them a lot

afaik the only offset options for these wheels are:

Front - 18x8.5 ET25 or ET35 (I'd go for ET25, as I have ET35 and I think they looked a little too 'tucked in')

Rear - 18x9.5 ET30

Im tempted by these but am unsure whether they would be ok on stock suspension without rubbing, ive heard of them rubbing on lowered ride height.

Been looking at these myself, are you sure that you cant get the 18"x9.5 30 offset on the front? as they look like they would have the Clearance for UK brakes?

i have a uk spec. the fonts are 18x8.5 and clear the brakes fine.

What is the offset on the 18x8,5? i was hoping to be able to get the 9,5 on, but they only come in 30 offset so i don't know if they will clear the arches, or take a 235-245 tyre.

Just been looking at a set on a friends Skyline, he has 18x9.5 30 offset all round, the Skyline needs an offset of around 15-20, so the 30 sits farther inboard, i was going by the std 17" Supra wheels being 9" wide and the offset being 40 ish?

Just resurrecting this as i have just found out that Rota now do the 9.5x18" in 12,20 and 30 offsets so do you think the 20 offset would fit? unfortunately not had a chance to try my mates Rotas yet.

+20 offset will stick out even futher past the wheel arches than +30.

Dick, this offset calculator should help you compare to stock wheel widths/offsets. Basically a 9.5" width + 20 offset would stick out 49mm wider than stock wheels.

Thanks Nic, bit of an awkward one as my Ray's wheels are 9x18 and i think the offset is 38 (have to check) but according to the calculator if i was to put 9.5x18 with 30 offset they would only project an extra 14mm, maybe i should just wait until i can try my mates wheels, although i did find this link http://www.rotawheels.com/p45r.php that seems to say that the GTRs come in a 35 and 48 offset but they are not labelled as GTRs and may also not be available in the UK:(

This is a rota gtr rim 9.5x18 with 20 offset from my skyline,

i tryed it on the supra to see how it looked and it sticks out a good 2 inch to much, but the dish suited the front.

I like these wheels.

Wonder whether the gunmetal version is better suited for a Black Supra as supposed to the silver one?

They're so gorgeous in the fesh but dont know if they suit or not.

they are not dish wheels.

lower offsets are made by the wheel design tapering out.

if they had a 1" dish they would prob be around 18 offset
