Metal Monkey dials

Let me start by saying that I am in no way affiliated with this company, just really impressed by their service.

I'd been thinking for a while that the piece of black insulating tape stuck over the "k" in "km/h" was a pretty tacky (pardon the pun) way on getting my speedo to show mph.

So I ordered a replacement speedo dial face for my VVTi from the Metal Monkey website:

Metal Monkey Supra

Straightaway I got an e-mail from Naomi at MM saying they'd received my order and another when it was dispatched (recorded delivery).

The quality of the product and the fitting kit becomes apparent as soon as you open the envelope and it even comes with Supra specific instructions. I had a little trouble with the speedo needle (that needs to be removed) but this was overcome with judicious use of cocktail sticks :sly:

However, when reassembling the dash. it became apparent that the bezel (that surrounds all the gauges) was partially obscuring the "MPH" lettering on the new speedo dial face. Particulalrly annoying as this is the main reason I'd changed the dial!

I sent an e-mail off to Naomi to see if a corrected replacement was obtainable, fully expecting the answer to be, "No, sorry" but to my surprise the very quick response was, "No problem. Just give us a few weeks to manufacture it".

Very impressed by this company's customer oriented attitude. I'll let you know how I get on with the replacement speedo dial face when it arrives. Maybe I'll be able to persuade them to create a matching rev counter dial face for the VVTi tiptronic ...
