Help warning triangle in rev counter on

dude

Recommended Posts

Guys i need help, the warning triangle in the rev counter is on with the engine running , ive reset the ecu and ive followed the diagnostic check on MkIV.com but all that happens is the engine management light and the o/d off light flash constantly , i understand this means that the ECU is not registering a major fault , the car appears to run fine , is there anything else that could keep this light on , when i first got the car i had a battery

charger connected (ign off) and some numpty switched it to 24v whereupon the turbo timer burst into flames (still works though) , help guys this is really bugging me .

funny you should say that , one of the guys at work suggested that and i told him not to be so stupid , the plug is just hanging there and the switch in the dash keeps flashing the green light , so the $64,000 how do i sort it .

John..

On your hanging plug end, bridge out ( join together ),the YELLOW and the PURPLE/YELLOW wire. That way it will tell the ECU that its there and in the up postion...

With the " Auto Off " button ( on the switch end ) make sure this is pressed down... Do this before you turn the ignition on..

ive not seen active spoiler removal light the main warning triangle before, but then again ive only seen a couple with it removed. do any other warning lights illuminate as well (in the door open and oil level areas or fuel dial cluster)?

have u got brake fluid in? handbrake on?

its normal for the light on the active spoiler control to flash after removal. i think there's some fix for the active spoiler removal that involves putting a resistor in between the connected wires. i could b wrong on this. its probably worth doing a search.

John,

If you want to take a look at the wiring diagram it's on my web site. Details below.

There is also a bit on how to manually control the spoiler without the ECU and there it'll be obvious why you've shorted the two wires together. Makes the spoiler ECU just think it's in it's natural parked state. Hence why you need to hit the AUTO button OFF.

click on "Active Spoiler" link
