Guru
Ok so I have had my supe for a long while now and got the clutch changed to a CW one in Decemeber. I have been thinking about this for a while but too lazy to ask! Its not all the time but I notice a deep thud coming from the rear of the car when I put it into gear. It has nothing to do with rev's nor gear dependant but happens in about 50% of my gear changes. She's drives and pulls normally but is off putting a bit. Any ideas? tbourner
Does it pull forwards slightly when putting it into 1st from a standstill? Even with the clutch FULLY down?

Any ideas? mine does this from time to time and have been told its "normal". I suppose if your car didn't do it before the new clutch then maybe it needs to be adjusted. Or maybe in need of gear box oil change ?
Guru
Gear box oil has been changed and I think it did it on the old clutch and flywheel too. TBH Tbourner I think it may pull slightly forward when in gear. The clutch pedal has to to be to the metal too to come out of gear fully. Do you think it may just be the clutch being slightly in gear even when fully depressed?
tbourner
So sitting in neutral doing nothing, push clutch in, put it in 1st and it clunks and edges forward very slightly? Clutch probably needs adjusting, mine did this for a while until I had the pedal adjusted (although now it's running on the bearing which is worse!!). Perfectly normal - I did lots of searches on this. Sounds abnormal but I think most 6 speed owners have this.
Marco
I don't think it's normal to hear the thud that much, only 1st and 2nd gear, the other gears should be smooth.

Well to be honest I can't hear a thud after 1st and 2nd only cos of my exhaust and turbos lol.
