Gerry
Just for all you Smart car fans out there (that's me and you Jon) just got the Flying Flea re mapped by Digitec. Now 100 BHP (from 64 stock) at 720 Kg Next bigger exhaust to squeeze a few more horses out - where will the madness end Was going to get it MacLaren West logo'd but not sure now as it's fun "mugging" cars down the by-pass in our Granny car
jamesmark
What is it's potential specs now? My Sarah loves these but I personally do not see the attraction, however if it can get impressive figures then I may say "Ok" Your image is not loading. Gerry
Think wer'e about at the limit for a 700cc engine without costing lots. The stock Smart is OK but slow and not good at cornering. We have got ours lowered and wider wheels all around, it goes round corners great now. The first re-map put it from 64 BHp to 84 and the second to 100. A after market TIK pipe and thats about it. A bigger exhaust may get a few more out but not much. The main fun (as I have said before) is watching people do a "double take" when you overtake them in a Smart, cracks me up.. Got a couple of round abouts on the way home on a Dual carriage way and it's great when a big car sticks in the outside lane as it asumes it will ovr take you on the exit - only to be left looking stupid when we squirt around and leave them overtaking nothing It' fun driving at it's limit, something you (me) can't do in a Supe. Bob
The difference in top speed at the end of the 2 mile straight was only 6mph with the Brabus Roadster posting 103mph and our Tsunami Turbo'd Smart fortwo posting 97mph.
PJ
Top stuff, I used to love driving my old Smart flat out everywhere, I used to use it for commuting, paid for itself within a year. Fitted a Bailey dump valve to it and tweaked it a little. Great fun little thing. Used to get comments from the local uneducated nippers alongthe lines of 'mental, he's tubo'd a Smart!!!' when they heard the dump valve go
T2 MSW
The only thing that concerns me is what would happen if you had an accident in it. Imagine hitting a Jeep or something in that
Thorin
Big bike engine conversion next then? Something like a GSXR1300?
Class One
I fancy a Roadster as my b road car and the idea of a hayabusa engine with a supercharger isn't beyond the realms of possibilities.
Gerry
If you saw the size of the Garrett turbo you would be surprised it reached that speed - it's about the size of a wallnut
