Guys

im ditching the viscous engine fan and going electric , will a 2300 CFM fan do the job ???? , i can get 2 in if i have to but would rather stick with one due to weight and current draw the rad im using is 50% more efficient (supposedly)

These are the fans that i have fitted to my Supe :-

http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/lowprof.htm

The dual ones with a displacement of 2500cuft\min. They were fitted by Leon and are the same as Powerhouse Racing, Suprastore and many of the other US tuners fit.

They work fine in heavy traffic, in moderate temperatures (experienced), but i have heard that they are not man enough compared to the stock item on a track day. Haven't had my car on a track yet, so can't comment on that one.

I would strongly reccomend the Flex-a-lite ones as parts are available if anything fails or breaks...... AMHIK :D

I'm using them on a stock rad, with a 50\50 mix of Toyota coolant and de-ionised water and Redline Water Wetter.

Well they were already fitted when I bought the car. Experiences of exactly the same setup in the US say that it might not be quite enough cooling for track use.

I guess it depends on your intentions for your car.

I can tell you one thing, it tidies the front of the engine bay up nicely :D
