Just a heads up.............

If you are quick Curry stores have dropped the price of the Panasonic 58" Viera to £599

Yes we just bought one for £599:D

it is the show room model though, he changed the price while we were stood in front of it so we grabbed it.

Apparently all the stores have been told to reduce this model to £599.97 + 1p for the pedelstal

No honest, this is not a joke.

We couldn't believe it either.

I have a currys receipt in front of me, it will be delivered next weekend for the extra £19.95

I brought home the pedalstal, remote, instructions and cables, as the computer sytem tried to charge an extra £10 delivery for the pedalstal because it is listed as an extra item:D

do you mean ex display? If so i saw a ex display 50" LG in PC World today aswell for the same price.

The one we bought was Ex-Display, but from what the salesman said they have been told to sell all existing stock, so if your lucky and they have a boxed one out the back you get a brand new one.

Unfortunately in Exeter they only had the Display model

is this for real?

im off to currys to further investigate

I promise this is for real

I've just called Currys. They did a search but none of their branches within 50 miles have the TH58PZ700 in stock. They can order me one for delivery in 5 days but at the full £2399 price.

My understanding was this Plasma is being sold for £599, but only the stock they have, which is why the website is still at the full price.

You need to find a store with stock or display model

which one? I am looking to get the 50" version, but not seen one in the flesh yet

Yeah thats the one i got. Absolutely blown away by it. Even the SD is excellent and its deemed to be one of the lesser qualities of the tv. Everyone goes on about the blacks, which are astounding, but not many reviews go into detail with the colour, which is absolutely phenominal.

id stick that tv on ebay and make a nice profit

It was a thought for a moment,

but the wife has been nudging to get one for a while, as the 50" Panasonic in the front room at the moment obviously isn't big enough:blink:

She seems happy enough with me though:innocent:

I've heard a number of reviews slating the SD quality on the 800, yet some reviews boast about the SD quality on the sub 80, 81, and 85 panasonic models... yet I bet they probably all use the same processing for SD signals...

i regard the 800 essentially the same as the 85 and 80, only difference being improvement on panel design using a single sheet of glass, and sound upgrade.

In fairness the difference is that u get 1 extra HDMI, CINEMA 24p Processing (or something like that) and the sound upgrade.

Every review says its not worth the extra 500 and i would tend to agree. But, the way i look at it, if your going to spend a lot of money on a TV, might as well get the best out of it.

SD quality is excellent, they are just comparing it to the pioneer which is a bit better. The TV needs a little manual adjustment for colours etc but thats all on AV forums. Looks absolutely stunning.
