spidermonkey
additive that makes oil better????? you should sell this to the oil companies you'll make millions.........
JustGav
if you no what i mean. Nope chaing; ownly; addative; serch; liters Hmmm.... There is no reason to add anything to the oil if you use the correct specification oil.
supra FTW
how many litres of oil does the 2jz hold....was that slow enough for you:p
Alex
DON'T DO IT!!!! Buy decent oil from the word go or sell the car. You need 5-6L's of GOOD oil. Silkolene Pro-S 10w50 or something else effective. Additives are full of BS only.

spidermonkey
fill and check with good oil, don't just throw it all in at once, you really don't want to over fill the block, if i remember correctly it should be between 5 - 5.3l but it tends to vary, please don't use the snake oil:(
supra FTW
i thought lucas was good/expensive oil?

Alex
i thought lucas was good/expensive oil? If it's so good why on earth would you consider putting in "additives"??
spidermonkey
i thought lucas was good/expensive oil? i always use Silkolene , i don't know how good the lucus oil is to be fair
supra FTW
i understand silkoline is the bees neez but i thought lucas was a top oil aswel? im not disagreing with you. its hard to describe how it makes the oil better it just does thay have a display that showes how, has anyone ever used lucas and it realy made a mess of your motor?? or is this just all theory im not trying to be argumentative i would just like to no why and for what reson? Thorin
Which of their oils have you bought for a start?
spidermonkey
its not really the oil mate, its putting in additives, oil companies spend millions to get the 'edge' on the compatition, if this additive is so good how come none of the oil companies add it to their oil? for what its worth the Lucus oil is probably very good (although don't quote me on that)
Multics
Just stick with Silkolene or Motul 300V Chrono.
Tricky-Ricky
As long as its a good quality semi or fully synthetic, check the spec for API it should be fine, unless your running a fully built high spec motor, theres a lot of oil snobbery on here;)

RobSheffield
theres a lot of oil snobbery on here;) There seems to be a fair bit of oil stupidity too FFS there is nothing snobbish about wanting the best you can get for a none standard car. Tricky-Ricky
Oh dear here we go:rolleyes: there is nothing wrong with semi synthetic, i have run a well modded SR20DET motor on it with no problems at all, and there is nothing wrong with using the best you can find, its just pointless unless you have a highly stressed engine as i said, running over specked oil on the Supra engine is just a waste of money, as its not that special, mechanically speaking. Thorin
Oh dear here we go:rolleyes: there is nothing wrong with semi synthetic There's nothing wrong with it no, but personally for the money I don't see why you wouldn't go for a decent fully syn. It is a performance car after all not a family hatchback.

Then go to Opie Oils website for the complete breakdown of what you need throughout the car. He, oilman, gives us discount too.
