Scooter
ok i'll discuss..............or put a flip side to it............ Matt C's car in the for sale section it like yours expect its a from the factory TT with all the GZ stuff, LSD, cruise, leather, active spoiler etc and is a mint low miler........for £8500 This route i would have said would have cost you £1000-1500 more than the route you've gone...... Break even (maybe saved a bit?) if you'd have gone for Angie's tt.......... Not knocking anyone's route to a tt though, i remember my first few weeks with one only too well........enjoy
Al Massey
im just waiting on my 5 to 6 speed conversion and getting the tt lump done together so i cant wait lol
Jspec Germany
This looks pricey, but if you can get a N/A for really cheap and have all the other parts sourced, then do the work yourself, I bet it would be at a significant savings. Then again, I'd just buy a TT or single in the first place. I hope you're happy though! Sounds as if you are.
DaveK
I have a similar view to Scooter. Although it might be cheaper than trading in for a TT, you only really get some of the TT bits by going this route (although I'll admit they are the most important ones!). Personally, I'd prefer to go the TT route and get the leather interior, active spoiler etc. Plus - I suspect a TT is easier to sell than a converted car - although neither seem particularly easy to sell these days. On the other hand - my NA is a 97, and although I could get an early TT for just a few £k more (if I wanted one) I don't think I'd want to go for an older car. And a 97TT would cost me lots more - which would make what you've done seem quite appealing.
