silvershark44
I hate when companies just say soon, i mean how soon is soon? In my experience soon often means a very very long time:tongue:
Pabs
v-power is out NOW! And 102RON BP is also available in portsmouth
silvershark44
Well if you live in the south maybe so But where I live in the midlands, we dont even have TESCO 99 RON!!! Im still waiting for that to arrive!! Most BP garages dont have normal ultimate and there is one shell garage in the whole city! So not easy to get decent fuel where I live:(
Wez
Some info here on BP Ultimate 102 :- http://www.bp.com/genericsection.do?categoryId=6621&contentId=7017179 Looks like it has BIO fuel additives to get the higher rating.

stupra
All the bumph on this 102 octane fuel looks good, but its gonna cost over £2 a litre isn't it ?, it won't be worth the extra for me i'm afraid.
silvershark44
£2 a litre!! F&ck tht. Though i may use it occasionly. But £120 to fill the tank?? No thanks

Geo
Optimax is only 98.9 up here in Scotland. Mind you not got my car off Jurgen yet so cant take advantage of it.
Pabs
102RON BP is currently £2.42 / litre in Portsmouth.. its expensive - but when they quote a 7% increase in power on a standard car, its virtually the same as adding an exhaust and air filter! silvershark44
you would probably have to reset your ecu to get the benefit out of it though, then so many miles for it to relearn how to use the fuel:innocent:
Guest Garfy
Optimax is only 98.9 up here in Scotland. Mind you not got my car off Jurgen yet so cant take advantage of it. its amazing that we can say ONLY 98.9 a litre, we have been conditioned by high prices that we think that is cheap. Stevie Boy
Filled up with V-Power by accident yesterday, thought i was filling up with Optimax but reciept said V-Power which i thought was strange, paid £1.09 a litre which isn't totally unusual in London especially if someone starts a war with a Middle Eastern country or there's flood/storm/tornado or when it's holiday season USA. BP 102's been out in Canning Town East London BP for a few months now, another station in Southgate North London was sposed to start selling it end of June, they weren't when i was on route to Santa Pod around then but think i saw a sign for it the other day. Could be worth putting half a tank in or so on the way to a track or dyno run day, then dilute to taste/wallet on return journey if there's still any left (should get a few more miles out of the tank too!) Terminator
60bhp gain at 4500 in a Porsches 16% gain over 97Ron pump fuel. If my maths is right thats 60 on 375. 16% of 800 is 128. Thats better than a 100 shot. I feel another map coming on. and a few green cannisters for the strip.
b_have
Be aware, its only 90MON which is 96AKI. I use a 103 RON which is 94MON, far better for turbo use.

Gamer
What is the best one then guys? V-Power or this BP 102RON? Anyone had both and noticed any difference? On paper the BP looks better with the octane rating at least. Price wise the V power wins by a large margin.. (V power is around £1.00-1.10 per litre. BP102 is around £2.40+ per litre). I guess it boils down to: Is the extra 3 octane points worth double the price ?
