bigbloodyturbo
it was on 5th gear this week racing a porsche. It was like watching a 500hp bmw 7 series wallow round a track, its definately rapid it just looks naff. I remember when i first saw a supra, it looked like it was doinf 100 when it was parked up, the GTR looks weird and 'glued' together, the front doesn't look like it came from the same car the back did. I agree. These cars look much better in the flesh.Last week I had the privelege to see a white GTR in the workshop of my local Nissan dealer. They had it on a trackday the week before,I think. They were changing the windscreen, brake pads, discs etc.
Nic
They're certainly not a pretty car, but they do follow the GTR family genetics of being big and brutal looking. I remember the first time I saw an R34 in the flesh, it was a big imposing looking brute of a thing, I got the very same reaction when I first saw the new GTR. They certainly have a lot of presence to them, they are a big car, this is emphasised more by the slab sided styling and the jet fighter-ish window lines. I'm still not sure if I like the look of them, but I think the designers got the looks about right.
Mike
It has that imposing look about it whereby even if you're not keen on the design straight away - you know it's going to be iconic. I think it's quite a ballsy design move. They could have trotted out another 'slightly more aggressive looking' saloon, as BMW have been doing for years. Guest dangerousandy
How about a R33 GTR...... I was offered this one for £200 before it was taken to the breakers yard. I am gutted I didnt have anywhere to store it as it has had over £4000 worth of work on the Engine alone! Was 100% complete when offered to me, but had been severely banana'd
