SteveR
Wow! That's very tempting. Haven't seen Tanabe IS either. I'm off googling. lol, I meant I got my Tanabe "Touring Medallion", new. As in, mine is new. Sorry for the confusion! Tanabe seem to make a good few exhausts (the Touring Medallion is the quietest one) and if they are a well built as the Medallion I have no hesitation recommending them! http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts is the easiest page to look at, the Jap site is a bit.. interesting to navigate! Good site Steve. I'm in between touring and ultra. It all depends on the exit. And the sound. I need to know the car is working if you know what I mean. Grin factor. SteveR
Good site Steve. I'm in between touring and ultra. It all depends on the exit. And the sound. I need to know the car is working if you know what I mean. Grin factor. I know what you mean. I was worried that, although I generally dilike LOUD exhausts, the HKS had a nice grumble that I was worried I'd miss. However the Tanabe is just perfect for me; quiet enough not ot annoy the neighbours too much and yet seems to have the same grunty tone low down as the HKS but is much quieter and civlised at motorway speeds. Happy to give you a demo in mine if we're passing near your way on Wednesday (M4->M3->M25->M20)
SteveR
Update: Right I've spent a few mins scubbing the exhaust with a little metal polish and simply wiped the carbon fibre bits with a cloth. Being totally honest I'm surprised how well they've come up! I didn't put that much effort in and didn't try using a wire brush on the worse bits, so I'm confident even better results could be achieved with a bit more elbow grease if desired. Take a look for yourselves: The good bits: The bad bits: Dent in silencer box. The carbon fibre section is stone chipped underneath and scruffy in parts. One layer seemed to be slightly peeled away in a very small section (look closely at the leading edge). General corrosion patches on the pipes that would almost certainly disspear quite easily with a wire brush (I can easily have a go and update if anyone is particularly bothered by this). Apart from these faults it's actually in pretty sound condition so I'm going to ask for £300 ono, excluding any P&P. I travel from here (Worcester) to Sheffield and Manchester a fair bit so if you're between me and there I could possibly deliver. At a stretch it might fit in the Supra as I go down the A419/M4/M25/M20 to Dover on the way to the Ring on Wednesday. EDIT - now £300 delivered to a mainland UK address. Also need suspension sorted. I'm aiming for a balance between great handling and poise and power. Not easy.

I'm aiming for a balance between great handling and poise and power. Not easy. Mine handles fecking amazingly since I got my geo done. I was honestly in awe of the abilty it has now. Gah, I'd better do a write up I've been meaning to do....I'll start it now. Despite there being lots of things I could improve (paintwork is top of that list) I'm very happy with the car. 550bhp - a nice power curve with it too, and great handling are good bedfellows
AndyT
Yep. Matt AFR did a full geo and tbh it's so much better. I am not good enough to exploit that expertise though. I love the fact the car is better than me. Makes me feel cuddly warm.
UltraFlynn
I've got one of these fitted to my car and I've also got the HKS exhaust baffle for it. With the baffle in it's not alot louder than a standard system. I have to keep it in because I go to work at 5am and the neighbours and my wife would murder me for waking them up. (Edit: Pretty sure I don't have the silencer in my system either, I'm pretty certain I've only got the backbox) (Edit: Just checked my huge gallery of photos and I don't have that silencer)

SteveR
Bump P.S. The only reason I removed this was because it was borderline too loud for the Nurburgring and I couldn't risk going all that way for nowt. Apart from that, it's a nice zorst! SteveR
Still available. I might get a bit more elbow grease out and make good the remaining rusty patches next weekend.
SteveR
I gave the flanges a quick going over with a wire brush yesterday which got rid of the majority of the corrosion, it looks pretty good now. If anyone wants any updated pics let me know but the rest of the pipe is as before. ^^ post 32 ^^
SteveR
I've been asked if this will fit an NA, anyone know? I know that complete NA/TT exhuast systems aren't the same, but are they interchangeable from a certain point, back?
