Dragonball
save people logging on...this is what Chris wrote to clarify- i wasnt online last night, so couldn't reply on the other thread to a few questions raised before it was locked, so best to clarify our position regarding the team situation. We are not in a position to run two skyline teams for many reasons, the main one being lack of space at the event, not the forum politics. Other clubs need more spaces to be fair all round to them, so one OPEN skyline team of the best cars is the only way forward. TOTB are sick 'n tired of the skyline forum arguments, and i dont think any one person from one forum will pull together all of the various factions in order to run a team due to the politics and persons involved, despite best efforts. therefore, we wish to make it clear in the main that there will be one open skyline team, made up of the quickest/best cars. To facilitate this its probably best that I co-ordinate the "non-gtr forum" users who wish to enter, including those people who for WHATEVER reason do not use this forum. Those of you who do use this forum can of course continue to liase with Peter as in previous years. the team will then be jointly selected based on performance only, no other issues need concern us. Anyone with any questions that are NOT about the actual team or its selection should email me direct or pm as we will not get involved in any further argument on the thread. Please bear in mind we have only just had the thread pointed out to us and i emailed Peter to clarify our position prior to this post. the Team name is at this time undecided, as again i feel thats a seperate issue that will only cause further argument at this time and doesnt need to form any part of the team selection issue. rgds chris Sounds fair... best set of cars wanted from wherever and whatever club affiliation... michael
I don't think the event will suffer as a result of this, if anything it opens it up to some variety instead of the same old faces.
steb9780
I think something shadie happened with Keith Cowies car too. They kicked up a stink about it not being a road car (well obviously you wouldn't nip to tesco's in it). But obviously it's MOT'd etc. They still wouldn't have it and I am sure Keith ended up going as a tuner entry or something a few years back due to it. tDR
Oh FFS. Let's enter us a mkivsupra.netRZOC, mkivsupra.netGZOC and a mkivsupra.netSZOC so we can all throw a hissy fit and act like a bunch of primadonnas when they tell us we're only allowed a mkivsupra.net entry Cheers, Brian. uzthedentist
that event is a shambles anyway tbh. it styles itself as 'the fastest road car' wheras most of the cars arent road legal. and has way too few non-jap cars. basically skylines evos and scoobys
michael
that event is a shambles anyway tbh. it styles itself as 'the fastest road car' wheras most of the cars arent road legal. and has way too few non-jap cars. basically skylines evos and scoobys All of the cars competing in the main event are road legal and it can only include cars that enter, they can't force non-Jap cars to enter
uzthedentist
yep road legal as in they have mot and insurance. however if they were towed in their current form at the event to an mot station maybe one would pass tops.
Homer
yep road legal as in they have mot and insurance. however if they were towed in their current form at the event to an mot station maybe one would pass tops. But then again, there are no cars from here (that would have any chance at competing) that would pass an MOT in their "TOTB" trim.
uzthedentist
thats true, which is why it shouldnt be written as a 'street legal' event cos its clearly not. the club class and tuner classes that they made are much better than before though
RedM
So, as it costs a fortune to get in, there's nothing to see if you find the events "boring", the burgers are overpriced, the babes are rubbish, there's not many traders stands, too few non-Jap cars, some safety issues and the rules seems a bit sketchy, should we all meet at mine for tea and biscuits instead?
