Servicing & Maintenance of Automatic Transmissions

Recommended Posts

Increasing engine power increases need of effective maintenance.

It may be down under and dirty, yet look after it and it'll look after you.

At each engine oil change, drain the transmission sump, (2 litres) and refill with fresh ATF.

At every-other engine oil change, fit a new pan filter and clean the magnets and sump too.

Steel particles are caught by the magnets and clutch debris is caught by the filter.

Fluid should be red/translucent.

Fluid darkened towards black is old. (Full flush)

Fluid darkened towards brown has been overheated. (Full flush and upgrade cooling)

The videos are not of Supra's, different flavour yet same smell.
