nice to see the whole band being interviewed, the last one i saw roger declined to take part , i think they still have some issues but thanks to bob getting them back for the gig seems to have made them think about the differences they had .

i still go to see australian pink floyd each year , music is superb and they cover all the old material ,as well as the popular stuff, plus the gigs are getting bigger each year

I watched that, it was thoroughly fascinating. I'm of that generation that wasn't actaully quite old enough to enjoy them at their peak and only became aware of them when they did The Wall album.

It wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I began to discover their back catalogue.

Aye, me too. Nick Masons recent book seems to be the most comprehensive history. He talks as candidly as an englishman of his generation can about what happened with Syd, and the split with Roger.

It was all a sort of embarrassed silence, they all knew Syd was losing it, but none of them wanted to face up to the issue and in Mason's book, there's a real sense that they let him down when he needed help the most. The defining moment being when they decide, almost without speaking, not to swing by his house in their little tour van. He was gone from that point onwards.

The other interesting bit was when Waters got their manager to sack Wright from the band, yet Rick still continued to play the Wall concerts as a salaried band member. That makes me think of the lyric "hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way"
