marbleapple
You wanting night life (i.e. night clubs ) or quiet country? I love Edinburgh Marriott for quiet (and quite plush) or York Marriott for something a bit more exciting night life wise.

marbleapple
No night life for this weekend mate. Just a nice relaxed weekend We went to Edinburgh Marriott last year and had a posh meal in their Restaurant. There was snow outside, a big log fire inside... superb. There isn’t much around but there is a bus stop 10 yards off site that takes you right into Edinburgh city centre in under 10 min.

Hobgoblin
Went to a lovely village in Cornwall a few weeks ago. Its called Fowey, pronounced Foy. Lots of coastal walking, plenty of good pubs and restaurants. Recommended for a quiet time.
