Carl_S
Lol Just been busy with my car today, thats all. I'll get it to work, they can't be faulty surely.. must be my installation. I'll get someone to check the wiring. failing that, ill revert back to the old lights temporally.

Carl_S
Reverse the plug polarity. oooo nice tricky, heard that one vaguely before. could well be it. Having the wrong polarity can't have blown the bulb then.

JamesG
Reverse the plug polarity. I'm not sure that's very good advice. It might not blow anything up, but it would be far better to check for any markings on the ballast units and test the connectors from the car with a multimeter if necessary. Won't hurt, done it loads of times when i have put mine back the wrong way around, they seem to behave like a diode, only work one way. Oh and i was referring to the plugs that actually go to the std light plugs.
vvteye
I appreciate that I'm a novice but mine arrived and I connected the ballasts in the loop and they wouldn't work. Put them on a seperate power from the battery and they worked fine. Now I'm not suggesting you wouldn't follow the instructions mind.... louisjames
Reverse the plug polarity. yes, same on mine, switch the ballast plug other way round, bit tricky because mine had the catch on the plug to stop it going on but iit worked. Oh and i was referring to the plugs that actually go to the std light plugs. Yeah, that's the plug I was referring to. I'm sure you're right about your particular unit, but they aren't neccessarily all the same. In particular, some of the cheaper versions (such as sold on ebay) may have less protection. Tricky-Ricky
Mine where cheap Ebay units, and AFAIK the ballasts all have the same wiring, at least the single light versions.
Carl_S
yes, same on mine, switch the ballast plug other way round, bit tricky because mine had the catch on the plug to stop it going on but iit worked. helpful to the max, Ill do a braniac, and reverse it. worst case it costs me another £80 and I hear a pop. But im sure it will be fine.
Nic
HID ballasts need a minimum voltage to fire up the bulbs, if the voltage is too low they will not illuminate at all or may just flicker. Try connecting them directly to your battery, if they work then, it's a wiring/earth problem, adding a relay will ensure correct voltage. As already suggested, also try swapping the bulbs and ballasts around.
Carl_S
ooo God, i'll swap the poles first, then come back here for assistance. Thanks nic.
Carl_S
They work now, I changed the poles around. I did this by just turning the power plug the other way around as it fits into the HID bulb unit. Easy, no trimming or anything.
