L_800OST
Hi all, After lurking round the forum since joining and just reading all the great information I think it’s about time I posted a quick intro and background. I’m Mark, age 41 from Coalville in Leicestershire, after having company cars for the past 18 years, I am finally back in a position to buy and use my own daily driver again. Last car I personally owned was a 1986 Mk 3 Supra auto in the light blue with dark blue leather and loved it for the year I had it, back in 1989. So, after considering and test driving all sorts of vehicles (Range Rover, Discovery, BMW 330, Merc CLK, Audi A4 convertible) and still not finding what I want, I just keep coming back to this forum and the idea of getting a MKIV. So unless things change drastically I am now on the hunt for a good, low miles TT if anyone has any suggestions, not in a mad rush as I have an old Landover I have picked up just for the winter/pottering about in, but the cash is ready for the right car now if I can find it. One thing I have not been able find in the forum though is a recommended Supra specialist in the East Midlands if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance and congratulations on a great community.

L_800OST
got my supe yesterday, after a epic 190 mile, 4 and a 1/2 drive from my house, in a old L plate automatic diesel Landrover discovery to the dealer. i got myself a very dirty, black auto TT that needs a few cosmetic bits sorting but go's like shit off a shovel... only dealer shown on logbook before me Car was fitted with the, optional i understand, wind deflectors on the top of the door windows that i managed to blow 1 off just passed newbury and the other lasted till coventry, as you can imagine the drive back was a little more "spirited" than on the way down. few things are puzzling me thou if anyone has the time to answer, 1) i was told that only miles can be shown on the mot cert, but my odo is still reading in km so it seems the car has done many more miles than was advertised and written on the reciept, is this correct ? 2) has standard 16" wheels fitted but the tyres differ, they are all new but fronts are 225/50 and rears 245/45 is this the standard and correct fitment ? 3) whats the max wheel width and tyre size that can be sensibly fitted to a standard car without any catching or mods ? 4) stereo powers up, scans for signal but finds nothing, aerial stays down, would this be on seperate fuse ? thanks in advance p.s. full member coming soon

juanchan
Can't help with most of your issues sorry, but being a powerful RWD car, you should expect the rear tyres to be wider than the fronts Not sure on stock 16's tyre sizes or the max you can fit on those wheels. I'm sure there are other people on here who's odo's read up in km. Hopefully someone will be along to confirm! Welcome to the club too dude!
