Scott
Hey guys having some issues with my alarm. I have a clifford alarm, think its a G4 or something like that, and it has been going off randomly for the past week or so. I have been working on the stereo system in the car but can't think of anything i have done that would be causing the issue. I think the first time the alarm went off was when it was snowing. Did it again a few days later. The really wierd thing is that it was still going off even when i turned it off. In fact i turned it off, started the car and it still started going off with the car still running. The indicators aren't flashing or anything when its turned off, the alarm siren is just going off. At the same time i took it for a drive for five minutes and after that it didn't go off again until the next day. Could it be the cold?? (not the virus the temperature). Any other ideas? QSC
Have you tried adjusting the sensors down to the minimum ? Mine kept going off until I did that - also the push-button for the bonnet wasn't going in all the way, which made the alarm think the bonnet was open, which kept making it go off. Scott
Hmm, i'll give that a go. Thing is its only just started happening. Just seems a bit of a coincidence that its since the cold weather has came and also since i started messing with the audio stuff. Where is the adjustment for the sensitivity? Carl_S
try downloading the manual pdf document for your particular model. Its a bugger though. Mine was chirping aggressively at the wind the other day. But I disabled the sensors without problems.

Scott
Ok, i've been looking more and more into this. Needing a bit of help with the following. I have absolutely no idea what version of alarm i have from clifford. When i got the car he just told me it had a clifford alarm and i thought nothing more of it. After having a couple of problems with it i started looking into it. I think i have the blackjax anti hijack thing, i have remote start, total closure etc etc etc. Does this mean my alarm is the AvantGuard any ideas how i can tell? Next... With this blackjax thing it seems i need a pin code which i press in via the 2 buttons next to the gearstick. Is there any way of resetting this without knowing the pin code? I could hope that its the standard pin thats in it but i highly doubt it. If it isn't, can i change it myself or do i have to take it to a dealer? Lastly... My remote start has worked fine since i got the car but over the past 2 days its not worked. When i press the remote start button the indicators flash 4 times and nothing happens. The indicators used to flash once and then start the car. Any idea's what these 4 flashes mean? I've checked all the documentiation i could find from the clifford website. I have all the guides from the avantguard, the intellistart and the blackjax and i can't find anything on what this means. Any help would be greately appreciated. AndyT
Get a Clifford service man out bud. You've probably disabled / adjusted stuff unwittingly because there's usually time limits to enter codes. Miss the timing once, ie reading notes lol and you're setting something else. Scott
Yeah thinking about that. Pretty sure its £150 just for the callout though. I've emailed drivers in glasgow to see what they say but my email is down just now. Cheers Scott =op

Dearest callout people I know are Corgi peeps @ 65 quid.
Scott
Got an email back from the garage. £55 including VAT for a full service check and replacing any sensors that need it. Not bad really. They don't seem to know what to do about the blackjax code though. Just mentioned that the std code is 2 which i tried. They also don't service the remote start anymore which is a pain. Worth the £55 just to have the alarm in tip top anyway Scott =op
Scott
Well just back from Drivers. The siren is completely out the game now so thats the reason for it going on and off. Need to get a new siren fitted. The remote start was down to a loose connection behind my stereo. When i went in i asked if it was working, they said no but when i got home i tried it and it worked straight away. Either that or it just needed reset. Needless to say i am a happy bunny again. Just need to save up some dough for a siren and i'll be good to go. Scott =op
