Paul Whiffin
Its for my air filter pipe so not much, ideally with a 45 degree bend on it as well, I dont really want to cut and shut it..... Ta
steb9780
Most places seem to do upto 4" bends, 5" seems to be very uncommon. Might be worth asking Jenvey they do alot more stuff than they list on their site. http://www.jenvey.co.uk/
captainchaos
i'll have a ask about a couple of our suppliers as we use up to 12" st/st with bends in it sure they also do ally
johnd-mkiv
had a look at work today all we have is 3mm wall, I can roll a piece up and fabricate a 45 deg if you get stuck john
Chris Wilson
Rolling may be the only cheap option, and for sure, VERY few places will be able to mandrel bend five inch alloy tube. Nearly all titanium tube is seamed, and a lot of ferrous, so it's not as if it's a cock up Machine TIG'd titanium sheet makes almost imperceptible tube joins. A good welder can make very neat alloy tube from sheet (I can't, but a GOOD welder can )

Chris Wilson
But not as long as a late model Hillman Imp, Skoda 110, NSU Prinz or other 60's rear engined cars. Way to go yet
peter richards
paul does it have to be aluminium ,thin wall stainless will be more readily available , plus its easier to weld with no corrosion
Mike B
I saw envy's fabricator working with 5" intercooler piping, and a turbo the size of dustbin.

johnd-mkiv
When you say roll a piece up, what do you mean exactly!? I have metal rollers that will make a 5" tube any length and width you want it will have a welded seam though, you can always hide that at the bottom. the 45 bend would be made from two segments or a number of smaller segments to create a smoother radius. we call them lobsterback bends, like chris has mentioned they fabricate titanium in this way. all of the above welding can always be smoothed and blended to make it look one piece
Chris Wilson
When you say roll a piece up, what do you mean exactly!? Like a spliff, Paul, but with a butt join, not an overlapping one If you ask what's a spliff I'm getting my coat...
Paul
like chris has mentioned they fabricate titanium in this way. Not always, we bend titanium tube at our place but not easy. Edit: Just realised you are on about seam welding rather than bending the tube?
