I didn't think it would to be honest, but so far I've got two films so far that I've compared. Gone in 60 Seconds and now Transformers....

Unless you have it though I don't think you miss it.

I'm the sort of sad bugger that will sit there and compare by having the HD DVD in one player and regular DVD in the other. I sat there and compared the two. Now I could see a marked difference, but the missus ? Nah, just gave me 'that' look ;)

I picked up Transformers on HD too, good innit :)

Resolution is DEFINITELY higher and that is obvious once you see it, which means things are a lot sharper. I'm not sure the colour depth is better, to be fair I'm not sure I'd notice the difference between SD and HD as far as colour range.

Usually there will be an hdmi connector, you will need either a sky hd box or a v+ box, or in my case a HD media PC.

Must admit i have had Sky HD for over a year now and i actually don't watch it much, the sunrise earth series is quite good and some of the nature programs, but only occasionally are the films any good, a lot are just upscaled, bit of a con really.

Agreed, as far as UK available media goes, I watch a lot of the stuff like Hereos and other american series which are available in HD.

Makes more of a difference on a bigger screen. Shows like Blue Planet are usually filmed and broadcast in 1080i/p def, whereas fast moving action is at the lower 720i as the movement compromises the quality of the picture to the point where you cant see the difference.

Transformers in HD is awesome! :D I've got it running on my 42" plasma.. I've also got 300 on HD which is amazing but my favorite so far has got to be Starship Troopers! that film was made for HD :D

Oooooh Starship troopers you say, will have to get that... I love that film.
