UK spec induction, help needed.

Bought a UK spec Supra at the weekend and it has a TVR Griffiths (sp) filter on it.:search:

Anyway I have the UK airbox and tried fitting it and there is NO chance! either that or I am just not using enough brute force to make it fit. I also have a SARD filter, again does not fit due to the UK MAF sensor is it?.

What options are there as I do not want that TVR thingy on it any longer than that I have to.

Cheers guys.

Is there any rule that say that this particular pipe has to be that straight? I was just thinking to heat it up (if possible that is) and re-route it around the airbox, or would that just be pointless.

The other option was for an Apexi one but cut the metal shoulder pipe to make it fit?

Other than that Michaels way to box it in. :)

My Blitz one follows the lines of the original plastic pipes so it clears the airbox, you could get another made up like that I suppose.

Cheers again guys.

Michael where did you get your pipe from? Will it connect ok to the other pipe in the drivers side wing or is every fmic manufacturer's piping different?

It came as part of the Blitz LM IC kit sir so it's designed with the rest of the kit in mind but could match up to yours.

Get a decent exhaust place to make up a new I/C pipe to route around the stock air box, it can be in mild or stainless steel, you'll just carry a pound or so more weight. Finding someone to fab it up in aluminium will be harder as there are less people who work in alloy tube fabrication than steel. The pipe can be a figure of eight if you like :)

JM,

Do you remember Steve Single? He makes pipework. I believe he was going to make decat pipes for mkivstore at one point. It might take some work getting hold of him as I've not heard from him in over a year but if you don't have any luck give me a shout and I'll do my best for you.

Cheers Mate, will keep that in mind. Wonder if he can do a UK spec 1st decat if CW does not have one when he checks.

Mmm... I might have some Blitz FMIC pipes in the garage now I think about it, I bought some damaged ones from Mr MonkeyMark ages ago but they are only bent on the lower ones.

I was saving them to chop up and use but I suspect I'll need a bit more custom work if I ever get around to doing the twins.
