Late night text service adverts

Do people really get suckered in by these?

I taped "WRC - Greatest Stages" the other night and am just watching it back, every ad break is full of "text this number to meet hot babes" (at £1.50 a message) or "text this number to find out what you should call your baby" (at £3.50 for every message sent to you, 4 messages a week or something) - I mean WTF!

OK I can understand some people thinking they will find love via a text message (Ed) but using this to find out if your current partners name is compatible with yours or for baby names seems highly retarded.

Is anyone on here a regular subscriber to such things?

Not to hijack but the Quiz things that are on late are equally as bad - phone in at £1 a pop to win £500 and they keep this going for at least 20 mins, (when I got fed up and switched off) must rake in a fortune

And no I don't text or call :D

when the fake cheering comes on at the start is when i turn it off

Find out which text services are scams, by texting "Scam" to 08895 now!

Calls cost £198 a second, and will last a minimum of 11 years, your home and your anal virginity will be at risk if you do not keep up the payments. To cancel simply text your height in cubitts multiplied by the number of grains of sand on Filey beach, divided by the square root of the number we're thinking of right now to 0889594673910086573900328490

At the end of the day, these systems/scams are there to make money! They are obvioulsy aimed at the "tug happy" late night minority......

They are similar in design to the daytime competitions that a lot or programs use now. In order to win a toaster, they ask a stupid question "What is Bob The Builders First Name?"

Is it A - Bob

B - Saturated Elephant Skipping On A Ford Sierra

C - Piss Flaps

Calls cost £1 a min and may involve a long call......WTF??

I can't believe people enter these either.....losers!!
